Transferring from another Italian university

Coloro che sono in possesso di un titolo di studio italiano per l’accesso al corso devono fare riferimento alle seguenti procedure: https://www.unipd.it/trasferirsi-altro-ateneo.

Important
Non-EU students residing in Italy with a valid residence permit issued for study purposes (i.e. released after enrolment in a degree programme at an Italian University) will have to follow the transfer procedure, under penalty of automatic forfeiture of the residence permit.
Avoid withdrawing from your current enrolment as this entails automatically losing any residence permit rights. After the transfer procedure is successful you will be able to apply for residence permit renewal.

Students wishing to transfer must have passed and registered at least one exam in their previous career/year in order to renew their residence permit.

  Bachelor's and Single-cycle degrees

In order to transfer from another Italian university to the University of Padua and continue with your studies, please follow the procedure below:

  • If you wish to ask for the recognition of credits from your previous studies (please check Recognition of previous studies). You will then receive an answer from the Academic Committee stating the exams that can be recognised, the year of study to which you are eligible for admission and whether you are required to take the entry test.

Please consider that for limited access degree programmes, admission to a year subsequent to the first depends on available places. You may be required to sit an entry test.

  • If you do not wish to ask for the recognition of credits OR if you are considered eligible for admission to the first year, you are required to apply for the degree programme you are interested in (please check How to apply).

English-taught Bachelor’s degree programmes
Please note that applications for limited access English-taught Bachelor’s degree programmes close on March 7th: it is highly recommended to apply as a first year student within the deadline set in the Call for admissions and ask for the recognition of previous studies on a later stage.

  • Candidates eligible to transfer to the University of Padua must refer to the Italian University they are currently enrolled in as far as transferring procedures and deadlines are concerned.
