Recognition of previous credits
Academic year 2026-2027
The procedures on this page allow the recognition of certified academic and professional activities, exams taken (including abroad) as single courses or in previous university careers, so that you do not have to take them again in the degree course you are following or will follow at the University of Padova.
It is also possible to submit an application for credit recognition for more than one degree programme. Each application must be completed indicating exams and activities for which recognition is requested (certified professional activities are recognisable within a maximum of 48 university credits (ECTS credits) for single-cycle bachelor's/master's degree programmes and 24 university credits (ECTS credits) for master's degree programmes); The procedures and any contributions required are specified in the sections below.
Please note: the application for credit recognition does not replace the request for enrolment, change of course or transfer and does not guarantee admission to the degree course. To find out how to access the courses, even for those requesting the recognition of credits, it is necessary to refer to the notices or calls for admission.
The places available for admission to years subsequent to the first of the limited-access courses are published starting from the week of 8 June 2026, for each course, on the page of the relevant call for admission. For open access courses there are no limitations to the number of candidates eligible for years subsequent to the first.
Those in possession of a foreign access qualification must refer to the procedures on this page.
The application for credit recognition is available for students enrolled and not enrolled in degree courses at the University of Padova or other universities, both for open access courses and for limited access courses. For clarification on the recognition of studies completed abroad (e.g. necessary documentation and translations), please consult the appropriate document at the end of this section.
The procedure is available from 15:00 on 18 June to 13:00 on 14 July 2026.
The application must be submitted online on page www.uniweb.unipd.it/valutazioneonline. Access to the portal is made with the same credentials used for Uniweb: those who do not have them can follow the registration procedure.
The application must be submitted by following the instructions available on the portal, uploading the required documents , entering the exams/activities for which recognition is requested (including exams not yet taken/recorded that are expected to be taken by the end of September 2026) and paying a fee of €40 for each application submitted. No refunds are provided for this sum, even if no activity or examination is recognized.
It should be noted that according to the Student Careers Regulations it is not possible to waive recognition after 10 days from the publication of the recognition resolution.
It should also be noted that for courses with limited access, once the resolution has been obtained, it is not possible to renounce the validated credits that have contributed to the achievement of the eligibility thresholds for years subsequent to the 1st.
Starting from August, the Commission in charge verifies the activities included in the application and prepares a resolution containing the list of exams/activities validated (in whole or in part), the year of admission proposed and an indication of whether or not it is mandatory to take the admission test to access the course.
The resolutions can be viewed within the portal, when yours is available you will receive an email notification.
Please note: the application for credit recognition does not replace the request for enrolment, change of course or incoming transfer and does not guarantee admission to the degree course. The notices or calls for admission contain the terms, methods and deadlines for access to the courses for those who request the recognition of credits.
For the courses in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, Medicine and Surgery and Veterinary Medicine, a dedicated call for applications is also prepared for access to years subsequent to the first, which is also available on the relevant page of the call for applications.
Those who request further validations at the course in which they are already enrolled, once they have received the resolution, do not have to follow any other procedures.
Recognized activities and exams are included in one's career by the first exam session available for the A.Y.. 2026/27, without the need to submit further applications.
