ASD AVENGERS PADUA ONLUS
ASD Avengers Padova Onlus is a team of athletes with disabilities who play powerchair hockey, i.e. hockey in an electric wheelchair; it is based in Padua. It is affiliated to the FIWH (Italian Federation of Wheelchair Hockey) and participates in the national A2 series championship. The venue where training and home games are held is the ‘Duca degli Abruzzi’ gymnasium, in Via Merlin 1 in Padua.
For most of the Avengers athletes, this is really the only sport they can play, as they have the ability to move the joystick of the electric wheelchair and move the ball with the stick attached to the front of the wheelchair itself. For others with greater residual strength, the hockey stick can be used. In essence, this is ‘sport for those who thought they couldn't do sport’.

THE DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE AND THE  STUDENT SERVICES OFFICE (INCLUSION SECTOR): A NEW PROJECT TOGETHER

The Student Services Office (Inclusion sector), through the collaboration with the Department of Medicine, wants to promote the culture of movement and physical activity among students with disabilities enrolled at the University of Padova.

The activity consists in a personalized approach to movement, physical activity or sport that must give the students with disabilities an opportunity to perceive their body, optimize residual capacities and make the most of them for a positive insertion in the study and work environment.

The project, born from an idea of Prof. Andrea Ermolao of DIMED, in collaboration with Prof. David Sacerdoti and the Student Services Office ( Inclusion sector), is structured in such a way as to allow each interested student to meet a dedicated physiatrist for an evaluation of their needs and, subsequently, to participate in 8/10 meetings customizable in terms of time. Such meetings will be held within the didactic gymnasium of the course of studies in Technical Sciences of preventive and adapted motor activity  in Sant’Eufemia street, Padova.

PDM Treviso

PDM Treviso is a non-profit, multi-sports organisation involved in sports for people with disabilities. Founded in 1992, over the years it has channelled most of its resources into wheelchair basketball. Thanks to the work it has done over the years, collaborating with all local institutions to promote sport for people with disabilities, it has become a point of reference in the Treviso and Venice areas. Over the years, many people with disabilities have approached sport for the first time, over time becoming true athletes, some of whom are esteemed and recognised even on a national level, to the extent of wearing the jersey of the Italian national team in various international competitions.
