Internships and work abroad - October 23, 2025

As a recent graduate or with studies nearing their conclusion, working abroad is an ideal way to devote time to personal and professional growth. This is particularly true when job opportunities in Italy do not match expectations or are scarce due to the economic situation.

Nowadays, companies expect graduates to be fluent in at least one foreign language. As almost all economic sectors have frequent contact with foreign countries, language skills are essential for securing a first job and, even more so, a professional career. An application is further strengthened by a qualifying period abroad.
By completing a long internship at a foreign company and applying their training in a real context, graduates can make contacts for a stable job abroad or enhance their CV when applying for a job in Italy.

Then there are the job opportunities.
Where and what you are looking for determines the options available: You could look for a job in France, Germany or another EU country, where companies can hire without having to comply with immigration rules. Alternatively, you could look for a job in the United Kingdom, the United States or Australia, where strict immigration rules can make it difficult to find employment. You could look for a first job after graduating, a job to continue your career in Italy, or a temporary job to improve your language and international skills.

With studies nearing their conclusion or as a recent graduate, training and working abroad becomes an ideal option to devote time to personal and professional growth. Especially when job opportunities in Italy do not match one's expectations or are scarce due to the economic situation.

During the event, organized by the Europe Direct-Eurodesk service of the Comune di Venezia as part of the "Explore the World... Veneto in Movimento!" series, the speaker Bernd Faas will illustrate strategies to check the feasibility of one's own project, providing useful information and advice.

The seminar is aimed at: students, recent graduates and experienced graduates.
In the first part, speaker Bernd Faas presents an overview of internship and job opportunities abroad. In the second part, he answers questions from participants.

Speaker: Bernd Faas, expert in international mobility.

The event will take place in Aula Nievo of Palazzo del Bo from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The presentation will be held in English.

Registration is required through the booking page. For more information, please visit the Comune di Venezia website.

A crossroad in front of you...will you follow your heart or your head? - May 27, 2025

Research indicates that successful decisions often involve a combination of both. Choosing the logical path might lead to tangible success, but neglecting your emotions could lead to regret.

In this session I will take you through my logical choices made in a bunch of seconds, thanks to which I had the opportunity to arrive where I am today.

Speaker: Cinzia Lionetti - International Key Account Manager

The meeting takes place online and is held in English from 3.00 p.m. to 4:30.
A recording of the seminar is available. To request access, write to: placement@unipd.it specifying course of study and registration number.
