Consorzio Ecosistema Innovazione iNEST – Interconnected Nord-Est Innovation Ecosystem
The Ecosystem Innovation Consortium iNEST, for the implementation of the research program as an "Innovation Ecosystem" within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr), aims to extend the benefits of digital technologies to the main areas of specialization in the Northeast (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Veneto, and the two Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano): the industrial-manufacturing sectors, agriculture, maritime activities, mountain regions, construction, tourism, culture, health, and food.
The interconnection of local ecosystems at the macro-regional level will allow work on a shared “digital vision” for the benefit of the economy and citizens, combining local strategies for smart specialization into a common mission for the Northeast. The Consortium will carry out the research program through a structure made up of a hub and spokes. It consists of 11 founding members, including 9 universities and three institutions, with the University of Padua serving as the proposing founding body.
