"An accessible world creates opportunities for encounters and mutual understanding. The path to follow is not always simple, but it is everyone's duty. The important thing is to take the first step"
The University of Padua promotes inclusive policies attentive to gender disparities, including linguistic ones, and to the reduction of barriers; it encourages the full participation in university life of students in conditions of disability, vulnerability, or difficulty.
To give concrete form to this mission, it has established a network of support systems dedicated to inclusion and disability. At the same time, outside its classrooms, it promotes technical committees and is involved in collaborations with other entities, with the aim of sharing best practices and contributing to the promotion of sustainable and inclusive social contexts.
One of the main vehicles of inclusion is attendance in the classroom, as it ensures the sharing of spaces and opportunities for interaction and relationships with lecturers and fellow students. For this reason, the University provides dedicated services but is also ready to implement extraordinary measures for those in situations that make it impossible to attend classes in person.
