L’università italiana rappresenta infatti, da una parte, il principale motore dello sviluppo socioeconomico del Paese, dall’altra, lo strumento attraverso il quale una democrazia matura come la nostra prepara i cittadini di domani a essere professionisti attenti e persone migliori. Questa stessa università attraversa oggi una delle fasi più cruciali della propria esistenza. L’inverno demografico, la competizione globale, la scarsità di risorse, la rapida obsolescenza dei saperi, solo per citare alcune delle questioni più rilevanti, minacciano la sopravvivenza del sistema universitario così come lo conosciamo e, di conseguenza, il ruolo che esso svolge nel costruire e puntellare il benessere sociale.

Gli Stati Generali dell’Università si terranno quest'anno a Roma, il 19 e il 20 dicembre, nell'Aula dei Gruppi Parlamentari della Camera dei Deputati, con la partecipazione della senatrice della Repubblica Elena Cattaneo, del vicepresidente Area EMEA - General Atlantic Vittorio Colao, del presidente della Camera dei Deputati Lorenzo Fontana, dell'ex ministra della Scienza, della tecnologia e dell’istruzione superiore del Portogallo Elvira Fortunato, di Giorgio Parisi (Premio Nobel per la Fisica) e del ministro della Sanità Orazio Schillaci.

Gli Stati Generali intendono dare vita a un momento di confronto fra gli atenei e i loro principali stakeholder, con l’obiettivo di analizzare lo stato dell’arte e immaginare un futuro di rilancio sostenibile. Un futuro da progettare per soddisfare le aspettative dei milioni di studenti e studentesse che prepariamo ogni anno e delle migliaia di ricercatori e ricercatrici che, nei nostri laboratori, trasformano la ricerca in tecnologia.

L’università italiana rappresenta infatti, da una parte, il principale motore dello sviluppo socioeconomico del Paese, dall’altra, lo strumento attraverso il quale una democrazia matura come la nostra prepara i cittadini di domani a essere professionisti attenti e persone migliori. Questa stessa università attraversa oggi una delle fasi più cruciali della propria esistenza. L’inverno demografico, la competizione globale, la scarsità di risorse, la rapida obsolescenza dei saperi, solo per citare alcune delle questioni più rilevanti, minacciano la sopravvivenza del sistema universitario così come lo conosciamo e, di conseguenza, il ruolo che esso svolge nel costruire e puntellare il benessere sociale.
