A recent study conducted by the University of Padua published in ‘iScience’ in collaboration with the University of Cagliari, ISPRA, and the Fisheries Research Institute, explains how markers linked to the FSHR gene (Follicle Stimulating Hormone Receptor) found in Mugil cephalus mullets can sort the male and female fish at the earliest stages of sexual maturation.
