Student fees

Enrolling in degree programmes costs from 0 to approximately 3,000 euros per year.
With the no tax area up to 30,000 euros, the University of Padua applies some of the most advantageous concessions among large Italian universities. In addition, various full or partial fee waivers and incentives  are available for students who meet specific requirements.
To obtain the reductions, fill in the Request for financial aid.

University fees are divided into three instalments that cannot be further deferred.

The first installment to be paid is as follows:

  • 208 euros (of which 192 euros for the regional fee for the right to higher education and 16 euros for stamp duty) for those enrolling in the first year, to be paid at the time of enrollment;
  • 588 euros (an additional 380 euros of all-inclusive tuition fee is added) for those enrolling in subsequent years, to be paid by September 30;
  • 16 euros for people enrolled in years after the first who have a disability with an invalidity between 66% and 100% or certification pursuant to Law no. 104 (for students enrolled in the first year, the amount remains 208 euros and they will receive any reimbursement of 192 euros subject to verification of the submitted certification), to be paid by September 30;
  • 16 euros for people who were deemed eligible in the regional scholarship rankings in the previous year;

Those who are not eligible for the regional scholarship for the academic year 2026/27 are required to pay by November 30, 2026 the balancing amounts of the first installment, available in the reserved area of Uniweb after the publication of the final rankings.

Anyone intending to graduate in the last session of the academic year 2025/26 (therefore by December 31, 2026) must not pay the first installment relating to the academic year 2026/27.
Those who, however, complete the graduation application but are unable, due to various impediments, to obtain the degree in the final December session are not subject to late-payment penalties for late payment of the first installment.

The amount of the second and third instalments varies according to the programme attended and personal and financial circumstances (for an estimated calculation, see the simulator).
To benefit from exemptions and reductions based on income, students must complete the Request for benefits, through the dedicated online procedure available in Uniweb under "Diritto allo studio, certificazioni di disabilità/dislessia, corsi estivi".

The second instalment must be paid by 15 February; the third instalment by 15 May.

Starting from the academic year 2023/24, non-EU students (with citizenship of countries outside the European Union and with a household not resident in Italy) pay a fixed, non-recalculable fee, as indicated below:

Enrollment fees can be paid through the new PagoPA method.

Students must regularly check their institutional email address (nome.cognome@studenti.unipd.it), which the University uses to send its communications.
It is also advisable to log in to Uniweb (path: Didattica - Dati personali) to verify that your details are correct, in particular your personal email address and mobile phone number, so that the University can contact you easily.

The fee for enrolment in a single course is 222.50 euros; the cost of each additional single course after the first is 200 euros. The receipt must be submitted together with the enrolment application.

People with a disability higher than 66% or with a disability recognized under Law no. 104/1992 pay a fee of 22.50 euros for enrolment in up to a maximum of five single courses.

Why do we talk about "tuition fees" and not "university taxes"?

We talk about university "fees" because what you pay is not a fixed amount (unlike a standard tax such as TARI or stamp duty) but, to ensure greater fairness, it is calculated based on your financial capacity, as expressed through the ISEE.
