T.I.M.E. - Top International Managers in Engineering
The project allows engineering students to attend a second cycle course (master's degree) of excellence at one of the foreign universities in the consortium.
These are integrated courses that provide a three-year training course ( one at the University of Padova and two at the foreign university) and the achievement of 60 additional credits compared to the number normally required for the achievement of the master's degree.
Those who have successfully completed the course of study are issued a double diploma by the University of Padua and the foreign university where the training activity was carried out and is counted among the TIME graduates.
The TIME double degrees are paths of excellence that allow students to study in the best international universities and polytechnics and to stand out in the world of work and academic research, as evidenced by several Unipd graduates who have chosen a double TIME degree: their stories and experiences are published on the dedicated page of the Alumni website of the University of Padova.
The T.I.M.E. 2026/2027 call is available as an attachment in this section
Call for applications T.I.M.E. 2026/2027
Application Deadlines:
Technical University of Denmark (DTU): 20 February 2026, 1 p.m.
All other destinations: 12 March 2026, 1 p.m.
The selection interviews will take place on 25 February 2026 at 8.30 a.m. for the Technical University of Denmark and on 24 March 2026 at 9 a.m. for all other destinations.
To participate in the selection, candidates must submit their application online by filling out the google forms available at the following links:
For DTU
For other locations
The application must be submitted no later than the deadlines indicated in Art. 9 of this Announcement.
The application must be attached, under penalty of exclusion, all the documents indicated in Art. 4 of the Call.
The educational path can be articulated in different ways, depending on the chosen destination campus and the level of students.
The standard course is accessible to students already enrolled in the first year of a master's degree course: the latter will be called upon to attend an additional two-year course at one of the partner institutions, thus completing the master's level training course.
Students must acquire at least 180 ECTS credits (=University credits)) in total in the second cycle, of which 60 at the University of Padova and 120 at the foreign campus.
Any exceptions to the duration of the period abroad or to the distribution of credits between the two campuses must be agreed and approved by the T.I.M.E Commission and the foreign office.
The extension of studies of at least one semester and the achievement of 60 ECTS additional to the number normally provided for the master's degree, represent an important added value to the training of the figure of the engineer and allow to obtain two similar but different qualifications; the two-year master's degree followed abroad, in fact, does not necessarily have to correspond to the second-cycle/Master's degree course in which students are enrolled in Padova, but can be of a related area.
When choosing the destination campus, it is essential to take into account the degree courses of the foreign campus, which are quite binding.
Not all institutions offer second-cycle courses in all areas of engineering: it is necessary to orient yourself on locations that offer courses of study complementary to your course of study.
Announcements and descriptions of locations (Technical University of Denmark - DTU, Grandes Écoles, Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona (ETSEIB) - UPC, Instituto Superior Técnico - IST, Université Catholique de Louvain - UC Louvain).
The study plan to be carried out during the two-year period abroad must generally be prepared before departure and approved by the Course of Study Council (CCS) to which the students participating in the project belong .
The proposed study plan will be evaluated by the TIME commission integrated by the contact person of the CCS to which the student belongs , in compliance with the requirements for the achievement of the TIME double degree. Any subsequent changes will be evaluated by the same commission and by the contact person.
For the purpose of obtaining the double degree, those who participate must follow the courses provided for in the foreign course track: any variations of the same, must always be agreed by the competent academic authorities.
The career of those who study will have to be constantly updated. To this end, all those who participate must register the exams taken abroad from time to time.
For the first year of studies at the foreign campuses, participants in the T.I.M.E. project, selected for European destinations, will be recognized, unless they are ineligible, the "status" of Erasmus students and will receive the relative mobility grant and all the integrations provided for by regional and university legislation, for the number of months actually spent at the host university, up to a maximum of 10 months per year.
Successful students are therefore required to comply with all the regulations set out in the Erasmus 2026/2027 call (https://www.unipd.it/erasmus-studio ), in particular the drafting of a Learning Agreement before departure and the preparation of a study plan.
Subject to the availability of specific budgetary funds, the University provides supplements for the first and second year of mobility, up to a maximum amount of € 500 per month (including the Erasmus scholarship for the first year), for a maximum of 10 months per academic year.
The people selected for Yokohama University will benefit from a grant of 700 euros per month, subject to the availability of specific budget funds.
The TIME Committee is responsible for the selection of candidates and for the procedures for evaluating and approving the study plans of those who participate, from time to time agreed with the individual course councils.
