Call STARS 2023

The evaluation process STARS@UNIPD 2023 has concluded. The list of funded projects and the "STARS Seal of Excellence" reserve list were approved by the University Board of Directors on 21 November 2023 and published at: https://www.unipd.it/bando-stars2023.
Interested candidates will be notified by email about the results of the selection.

The call STARS@UNIPD 2023 funds research projects, lasting 30 months, in one of the 27 scientific areas included in the disciplinary groupings established by the University Macro-areas, which correspond to the three domains of the European Research Council (ERC):
- EP: Physical Sciences and Engineering
- LS: Life Sciences
- SH: Social Sciences and Humanities.

The call provides for three types of funding

STARS Starting Grant (STARS-StG): for PIs, also external to the University of Padova, in the start-up phase of their team and / or their independent research activity, who have supported the final discussion of the first PhD dissertation for no more than 5 years on 1 January 2023 (eligibility window: 01/01/2018 - 31/12/2022 included);

STARS Consolidator Grant (STARS-CoG): for PIs, who already carry out research activities at Unipd, in the consolidation phase of their team and / or their independent research activity, who have supported the final discussion of the first PhD dissertation from a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 10 years on January 1, 2023 (eligibility window: 01/01/2013 - 31/12/2018 included);

STARS Wild Card Grant (STARS-WiC): for PIs who submitted an ERC project proposal in the 2021 and 2022 calls, indicating Unipd as the Host Institution, and who, despite having obtained the final score "A" in the second evaluation step, were not funded due to budget constraints.

The Call STARS@UNIPD 2023 is open from 1 December 2022 to 28 February 2023, at 13.00 (Italian time).
