STARS 2023 call
The STARS@UNIPD 2023 evaluation process has been concluded. The list of funded projects and the reserve list, "STARS Seal of Excellence", were approved by the Board of administration of the University on 21 novembre 2023 and published on the page: https://www.unipd.it/bando-stars2023.
Interested candidates will receive an email notification regarding the outcome of the selection process.
The STARS@UNIPD 2023 call funds research projects lasting 30 months in one of the 27 scientific areas included in the disciplinary groupings established by the University Macro-areas, which correspond to the three domains of the European Research Council (ERC):
- PE: Physical Sciences and Engineering
- LS: Life Sciences
- SH: Social Sciences and Humanities.
The call provides for three types of funding
STARS Starting Grant (STARS-StG): for PIs, including those external to the University of Padua, who are in the start-up phase of their team and/or their independent research activity, and who defended the final discussion of their first PhD thesis no more than 5 years before 1 gennaio 2023 (eligibility window: 01/01/2018 - 31/12/2022 inclusive);
STARS Consolidator Grant (STARS-CoG): for PIs already carrying out research activities at Unipd, who are in the consolidation phase of their team and/or their independent research activity, and who defended the final discussion of their first PhD thesis between a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 years before 1 gennaio 2023 (eligibility window: 01/01/2013 - 31/12/2018 inclusive);
STARS Wild Card Grant (STARS-WiC): for PIs who submitted an ERC project proposal in the 2021 and 2022 calls, indicating Unipd as the Host Institution, and who, despite having obtained the final score of "A" in the second evaluation step, were not funded due to budget limitations.
The STARS@UNIPD 2023 Call is open from 1° dicembre 2022 to 28 febbraio 2023, at 13.00 (Italian time).
Deadline: 28 February 2023 at 13.00 (Italian time)
Note for candidates assessed during Phase 2:
an individual email containing the outcome of the selection process will be sent by PICA in the next few hours.
