MSCA Seal of Excellence @UniPD

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) are funded under the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme and aim at supporting the training and career development of researchers. In particular, Individual Fellowships (MSCA-IF) finance their transnational mobility for a period of 12 to 36 months.

Starting with the MSCA 2016 Call, the European Commission has automatically awarded the "Seal of Excellence - Marie Curie Actions" to high quality MSCA-IF proposals which scored 85/100 or above and passed the quality threshold, but could not be funded under the available call budget. The Seal of Excellence recognizes the value of a project proposal and guarantees it has passed a highly competitive evaluation process, thus being recommended for funding by other sources, at national, regional or local level.

With a view to encouraging a wider participation in the MSCA-IF call and looking forward to collaborating with the most qualified researchers, the University of Padova now supports the MSCA Seal of Excellence @UniPD. Through a dedicated call for applications, this funding programme assigns a grant of 50,000 Euro per year to projects that have the University of Padova as their planned Host Institution and, despite not being funded, have obtained the "Seal of Excellence - MSC Actions".

The MSCA Seal of Excellence @UniPD funding programme only concerns projects that receive the Seal of Excellence – MSC Actions under the MSCA-IF Call 2017 and the forthcoming MSCA-IF Call 2018. It covers a research grant contract (assegno di ricerca) and a budget for research, training and networking expenses.

MSCA Seal of Excellence @UniPD Funding programme | MSCA- IF Call 2017

The MSCA Seal of Excellence @UniPD first call for applications is specifically addressed to researchers who, in MSCA-IF 2017 2017, submitted an Individual Fellowship project indicating the University of Padova as their host institution and, despite not being funded by the European Commission because of budget limits, their proposal was assigned the Seal of Excellence - MSC Actions.

The call for applications aims at granting 50,000 Euros for each year of activity, for the whole duration of the project indicated in the MSCA-IF 2017 proposal. The budget has to be used for covering the cost of a research grant (40,000 Euros) and research, training and networking expenses (10,000 Euros).

The second call for applications in the framework of the MSCA Seal of Excellence@UniPD Funding Programme is specifically addressed to researchers who, in the MSCA-IF Call 2018 (12 April - 12 September 2018),  submit an Individual Fellowship project indicating the University of Padova as their Host Institution and , even if they do not obtain funding for the proposal, will be assigned the Seal of Excellence - MSC Actions.

The University of Padova International Research Office offers support to researchers while drafting the proposal (administrative and scientific part) and collaborating with the University professors chosen by the candidates as their Supervisors.
