Pan-European Seal Programme - PES
The Pan-European Seal Programme (PES) is a European initiative promoted by the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), involving more than 100 universities across Europe.
The programme offers selected graduates, recent graduates, and PhD candidates the opportunity to access professional development pathways and paid traineeships at leading European institutions, facilitating entry into international professional environments.

- Candidates may apply for only one of the two programmes.

EUIPO – PES Traineeship Programme
The EUIPO PES Traineeship Programme is a 12-month professional traineeship hosted at the premises of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
The programme enables participants to gain hands-on experience and professional training in the field of intellectual property, with a specific focus on European trade marks and designs, working within international teams and under the guidance of experienced tutors.
- Objective: professional traineeship providing practical experience in a European institutional context.
- Duration: 12 months, full-time.
- Eligible candidates: graduates, recent graduates, and PhD candidates interested in law, economics, IT, communication, and project support.
- Type of programme: an entry-level professional experience with structured training and tutoring, suitable for those wishing to begin developing international and operational skills in IP and the management of European trade marks and designs.

EPO – PES Young Professionals Programme
The EPO PES Young Professionals Programme is a 12 to 36-month professional development programme designed for candidates aiming to build an international career in the field of patents and industrial property.
The programme combines paid professional experience with specialised training and involvement in real projects, offering an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the activities of the European Patent Office.
- Objective: a long-term professional pathway combining specialised training with work on real projects.
- Duration: 12-36 months, full-time.
- Eligible candidates: graduates and PhD candidates interested in patents, technology, science, economics, law, and IT applied to patent-related activities.
- Type of programme: an international career experience in a high-level technical-scientific and legal environment, suitable for those wishing to pursue long-term professional development in the field of intellectual property and patents.

Italian Junior Professional Officers Programme - deadline 16 June 2025
The Italian JPO Programme is a multilateral development cooperation initiative sponsored by the Government of Italy through the Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and implemented by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN/DESA). It enables qualified Italian nationals and nationals of eligible developing countries to gain work experience with international organizations for a period of two years, with the possibility of a further one-year extension.
The purpose of the Programme is two-fold: a) to assist international organizations in carrying out their activities by providing them with gratis skilled personnel; b) to allow qualified young professionals seeking an international career to make a relevant experience that could broaden their chances of recruitment in international organizations or in the international field.
11 positions are assigned to different entities of the United Nations Secretariat and 45 to 23 international organizations, for a total of 23 duty stations. 54 positions are reserved for candidates of Italian nationality. 2 positions are reserved for candidates from developing countries. Broadcast Training Programme di Olympic Broadcasting Services
