Unipd and Rus for inclusion

inclusion

The University of Padua is part of Rus (Network of Universities for Sustainable Development), the first experience of coordination and sharing among all Italian universities engaged in environmental sustainability and social responsibility issues, formally established at the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) in July 2016.

The main aim of Rus is to spread the culture and good practices of sustainability to increase the positive impacts in environmental, ethical, social, and economic terms of the actions undertaken by individual universities. By pooling skills and experiences, it also aims to strengthen the recognisability and value of the Italian experience at an international level.

Within RUS, there is the working group "Inclusion and Social Justice", which aims to create shared policies and promote sustainable and inclusive social contexts capable of evolving and initiating innovations centred on social justice. The commitment is to increase critical awareness of inequalities, discrimination, and forms of inequity, to promote services centred on the right to education, to initiate inclusive policies attentive to disparities in language and gender, and to reduce barriers. The coordinator of this working group is prof. Laura Nota (University of Padua).
