100 CRUI Scholarships for Refugees
The Ministry of the Interior is offering 100 annual scholarships per academic year to students who have been granted international protection in Italy (with refugee status, subsidiary protection, or temporary protection for Ukrainian citizens).
The scholarships are provided in the form of services by the host university and typically include free board and lodging for the entire academic year, as well as additional services such as Italian language courses.
Who can apply:
- Holders of international protection granted in Italy, falling under the categories of refugee status, subsidiary protection, or temporary protection for Ukrainian citizens;
- Students enrolling for the first time at an Italian university and eligible to renew the scholarship upon earning the CFU (university credits) specified in the call for applications, meaning they must not have previously enrolled in courses at Italian universities outside of the programme for which they are applying under this notice;
- Additionally, and only subject to the availability of remaining funds, students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in Italy, who were recipients of a Ministry of the Interior scholarship in the 2024/25 academic year, and who intend to enrol in the 1st or 2nd year of a master’s degree programme in the 2025/26 academic year, provided they meet the entry requirements and merit conditions outlined in the call.
To apply, candidates must complete the application form and submit the required documentation according to the procedures described in the annual online call.
This initiative by the Ministry of University and Research is carried out in collaboration with the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) as part of the agreement signed on 7 January 2025 with the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) 2021–2027.
