Italian Universities for Palestinian Students – IUPALS

Coordinated by the Italian Conference of Rectors (CRUI), with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Universities and Research and the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem, the University of Padua is offering up to 4 scholarships to support Palestinian students residing in the Palestinian territories through the Italian Universities for Palestinian Students (IUPALS) initiative.

  IUPALS Scholarship

Amount of scholarship and benefits: fee-waiver + € 12,000.00 scholarship (gross amount). The scholarship includes:

  • Provision of accommodation;
  • access to the catering service at ESU canteens and affiliated facilities;
  • coverage of health insurance costs.

Duration: three years for Bachelor’s degree student; two years for Master’s degree students

Who can apply: the applicant must:

  • hold Palestinian citizenship and reside in the Palestinian Territories;
  • hold, or are in the process of obtaining, a secondary school diploma (for students enrolling in a Bachelor’s degree or Single-cycle Master’s degree) or a Bachelor’s degree diploma (for students enrolling in a Master’s degree) valid for access to the Italian university system;
  • have been already admitted during the ordinary Call for applications;

OR

  • apply during the extraordinary Call for application to one or more unlimited-access degree programmes taught in English or Italian offered by the University

How to apply: Applicants must apply at apply.unipd.it from 2 June and no later by 11.59 pm (Italian time zone) of 2 July 2025. Applicants can apply to up to three degree programmes. Application fee will be exceptionally waived.

Selection criteria: Scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving candidates, on the basis of the quality and results of their previous academic career, their linguistic competence, motivation and “at risk” status.

Selection results: the results will be published from 21st July 2025, on this webpage and on the dedicated webpage at www.crui.it

  IUPALS Italian language course – CRUI

CRUI, in collaboration with some Italian universities part of the project, will oversee an Italian language and culture course prior to the start of the academic year in Italy, specifically organised within the IUPALS framework.

When: from 3 June to 30 October 2025 for a total duration of five months.

Where: These courses will be held in Bethlehem and in Ramallah, at the Schools of the Holy Land.

How to apply: interested applicant will have to register for the course according to the procedures set out in a dedicated selection notice published in the CRUI website at at www.crui.it

After successful completion of the course, students will obtain a certificate describing the syllabus and the skills acquired.
