Students at risk: scholarships to support students A.Y. 2024/25

  Student at Risk scholarship – Palestinian Territories – a.y. 2024/25

After the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the University of Padua offers up to 5 scholarships to support Palestinian students.

Amount of scholarship:

  • 1st year: € 12,000.00  (gross for the recipient) + tuition fee waiver
  • 2nd and 3rd year: € 8,000.00 (gross for the recipient) + tuition fee waiver

The only amount to be paid by beneficiary students for a.y. 2024/25 consists of an admission fee, corresponding to the regional tax and marca da bollo.

Duration: two academic years for Master’s degree, three academic year for Bachelor’s degree.

Who can apply: the applicant must:

  • Come from Palestinian Territories;
  • Reside outside of Italy;
  • hold, or are in the process of obtaining, a secondary school diploma (Bachelor’s degree or Single-cycle Master’s degree applications) or a Bachelor’s degree diploma (Master’s degree applications) obtained in Palestinian higher secondary schools and/or higher education institutions, and valid for access to the Italian university system;
  • apply during the extraordinary Call for application to one or more unlimited-access degree programmes taught in English or Italian offered by the University, whose Call for applications have already closed, and get admission, or have been already admitted during the ordinary Call for applications.

How to apply: Applicants can apply at apply.unipd.it from 24 June and no later than 15 July 2024. Applicants can apply to up to three degree programmes. Already admitted applicants will be contacted by the Admissions and Welcome Unit.

Selection criteria: Scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving candidates, on the basis of the quality and results of their previous academic career, their linguistic competence, motivation and “at risk” status. Younger candidates and women will be prioritised in case of a tie.

Selection results: the risults will be published from 24th July 2024 at  www.unipd.it/en/students-at-risk.

Acceptance: selected candidates will receive a specific communication from the Admissions and Welcome Unit of the Global Engagement Office indicating the methods and timing for accepting the financial benefit.

Method of payment and maintenance requirements: the scholarship will be paid via bank transfer in two (2) equal installments. Further conditions for the payment of the first and second installment are outlined in the call for applications.

Revocation: in the event that the merit requirements for maintaining the scholarship are not satisfied within the specified period, the payment of the scholarship will be interrupted.

  Students at Risk 2024/25

The University of Padua offers up to 22 scholarships to support students at risk.

Amount of scholarship: fee-waiver + € 7,987.72 scholarship (gross amount). The only amount to be paid by beneficiary students for a.y. 2024/25 consists of an admission fee, corresponding to the regional tax and marca da bollo.

Duration: one academic year, renewable.

Who can apply: the applicant must:

  • hold a temporary protection as defined by the EU Decision 2022/382 or
  • hold a permit of stay for asylum or equivalent, in Italy or abroad or
  • consider yourself “at risk”;

Moreover they must:

  • hold a secondary school diploma (for enrolment in a bachelor’s degree or single-cycle master’s degree) or a bachelor’s degree (for enrolment in a master’s degree) obtained outside Italy and deemed eligible for admission into the Italian university system;
  • apply to one or more degree programme(s) for the A.Y. 2024/25 or
  • have already been admitted for the A.Y. 2024/25.

How to apply: applications must be presented from May 13th, 2024, by filling in this online form and attaching the following PDF documents:

  • Admission letter or admission offer for the A.Y.2024/25;
  • residence permit or
  • description of the “at risk” situation as detailed in the Attachment 1.

  Students at Risk 2023/24 – renewal

Students benefitting from the “Students at Risk 2023/24” scholarship can renew the scholarship for the a.y. 2024/25.
