Welness

Yoga and Wellness at the University

The goal of the Yoga courses is to promote physical and mental well-being and improve quality of life by addressing multiple areas: physical health, emotional and mental balance, concentration and focus, and deep relaxation.

One beginner course and one advanced course (held at the Central Administration), with one session per week after working hours.

Tai Chi Chuan and Wellness at the University

The aim of the Tai Chi Chuan courses is to create a path oriented towards the conscious integration of body-mind-spirit and environment, enhancing psychophysical well-being and harmony between one's inner world and the surrounding environment through the ancient practice of Tai Chi Chuan.

The Tai Chi Chuan courses are intended for teaching and research staff, management and technical-administrative staff, research fellows, doctoral candidates, and students of the University of Padua.

Since 2017, 24 editions have been carried out (15 basic courses and 9 advanced courses) involving 543 people.

Courses (basic and advanced) are mainly held outdoors and, in case of bad weather, indoors, always in university spaces, or online, twice a week (before work or during lunch break), and are typically offered in the period: April – June.

Qi Gong and Wellness at the University

The goal of the Qi Gong and Wellness courses at the University is to offer a system of exercises and meditation techniques aimed at promoting postural balance, self-massage, breathwork, and the development of concentration.

The Qi Gong courses are open to teaching and research staff, executives, technical-administrative personnel, research fellows, and PhD students working at the University of Padua.

Voice Management Course

In May 2023, the Voice Management course was launched for the first time on an experimental basis. It is aimed at all teaching staff at the University of Padua (full professors, associate professors, and fixed-term researchers of type A and type B).

The course aims to reduce and optimize the vocal load of university professors, who use their voice daily as a professional tool, and to prevent voice disorders caused by vocal strain (vocal overuse), through exercises involving the voice.

The course takes place in university classrooms, once a week, over three afternoon sessions. It is free of charge and has a limited number of spots, available upon online registration.

When registration opens, an email is sent out with additional information.

Since the project began, 49 people have taken part.

In 2024, three editions of the course were held—in March, May, and October.
