International Winter School The 4 Ms - Meta-research, Measurement, Multi-lab, and Multiverse data analysis in Behavioral Sciences

This Winter School has been designed to provide a response to the ongoing debate on current methodological challenges in the psychological and behavioral sciences. These challenges, and how they will be addressed, have profound implications for theoretical development, measurement in psychology, and the use of data analysis methods. The aim of the Winter School is to introduce participants to the most recent advances in meta-science, providing them with theoretical insights and practical tools to address these challenges and carry out methodologically rigorous research projects. In addition, the Winter School aims to promote the network of collaboration among the participants, encouraging the discussion of their projects with both teachers and colleagues, so as to establish new collaborations and apply the tools learned to their current research.

The Winter School is campus at the University of Padua and is co-organized by four of its departments: the Department of General Psychology, the Department of Developmental and Socialization Psychology, the Department of Statistical Sciences and the Department of Neuroscience.

Comparative Studies in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning

Since 2014, the Academy of Adult Education (AEA) has been held at the University of Würzburg in Bavaria, Germany, in the first two weeks of February. The EEA promotes international networks in adult education and lifelong learning, aiming to foster a connection between academic learning and the field of adult education. Durante the two-week intensive programme, analytical and comparative skills in adult education in an international environment are developed. An understanding of internationally relevant educational policies in the context of lifelong learning is provided, while communication, team-building skills and critical thinking are strengthened by working together in this international context.
Target groups
Master's and doctoral students in adult education, as well as colleagues from the field of adult education and lifelong learning (hereinafter referred to as "practitioners") are invited to participate in the Academy of Adult Education in Würzburg. Practitioners should have experience in adult education (e.g. course unit, programme planning, management in institutions of adult education associations). As a minimum requirement, all participants should have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a subject related to adult education and lifelong learning.
Structure
The Academy of Adult Education is divided into an online preparatory phase, a two-week intensive programme that includes the first week from 2 to 8 February 2025 and the second week from 9 to 14 February 2025 in hybrid mode and an optional follow-up. The two-week intensive programme will be organised online and in person in Würzburg.
