PCU Games
The University of Padua participates every year in international initiatives and competitions, organized by the PCU Committee in collaboration with the University of Antwerp (Belgium), whose aim is to promote the values of fair play and friendship in the large international student community, through sport and art.
On November 20, the sixth International University Chess Cup was held online, organized by the University of Antwerp in collaboration with the PCU Committee, with the aim of promoting the values of fair play and international friendship through the game of chess. 101 students participated on behalf of the University.
From April 26 to 28, 2023, the 24th edition of the PCU University Games took place. The initiative, organized by the University of Antwerp, saw students from all over the world compete in basketball, volleyball and futsal tournaments. The University of Padua was represented by 5 students.
On November 22, 2023, the PCU Chess@Home, an online chess competition organized by the Antwerp University, was held online. 126 students from 32 countries participated. The University of Padua was represented by 30 students.
At the end of November 2022, the fourth edition of the PCU International University Chess Cup was held, the chess challenge between students from all over the world. In particular, about 50 students from the University of Padua participated in the PCUs CHESS@HOME 2022, winning seventh place.
The PCU Games 2021 Champions took place in April and saw the participation of more than 160 universities from 62 countries. For the University of Padua, about 20 students participated, winning first place at the PCU Futsal Challenge 2021. The University also participated in the Enrico Prandi Trophy 2021, receiving an honorable mention for having shown great commitment to keeping students active during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Also in autumn 2021, the students of the University were able to participate in some free initiatives and tournaments including tennis challenges, chess tournaments, an art and photography competitions on the theme "Fair Play in (university) sport". In particular, about 40 students from the University of Padua participated in the PCU Chess@HOME 2021 Champions, winning first and second place.
The initiatives were held in December 2020 and saw the participation of 112 universities. For the University of Padua, about 60 students participated in the PCU Chess Cup, winning third place.
