ESU Housing Competition

Unipd students can find accommodation at residences, colleges, apartments and establishments holding agreements with the University.
Many accommodations are reserved to international students, for which there is also an International Housing Office.
Furthermore, a competition is held every year for the allocation of ESU accommodation.

  Measures to Support University Students in Conditions of Severe Disability (deadline November 4, 2024)

The Regional Authority for the Right to Education (Esu) provides financial support to cover the expenses incurred for the remuneration of qualified personnel assisting the student during their course lectures. Applications can be submitted starting from Monday, October 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM until Monday, November 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Please refer to the call for applications.

  ESU Housing Competition A.A. 2025/2026

Students who fall into the category of off-site and commuter enrolled/enrolling in bachelor's degree programmes (three-year), master's degree programmes (two-year), single-cycle master's degree programmes, PhD programmes, and specialisation schools (non-medical area) are eligible to participate in the ESU Housing Competition.

The benefit is granted only for the achievement of the first degree for each level of study and on a priority basis to off-site students who meet the relevant merit and income requirements.

To determine their status as living away from home or commuting, students must strictly refer to the Table of geographical distances published by the ESU and the University.

To access accommodation at full or reduced rates, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • irst-year students: income requirements only (as certified by ISEE/ISEE Parificato Universitario)
  • subsequent years: merit requirements (as of 10 August 2025) and income (as certified by ISEE/ISEE Parificato Universitario)

Online application

Starting at 10:00 a.m. on 4 July 2025, applications can be submitted by the deadlines indicated below, exclusively through the ESU Padova online services on the institutional portal Sportello studente.

Deadlines for submitting online applications:

  • Subsequent years: students/PhD students/specialisation students (not in the medical field): 19 August 2025 (10 a.m.)
  • First years: EU/international students/PhD students/specialisation students (not in the medical field): 26 August 2025 (10 a.m.)

Merit requirements (credits) must be met by 10 August 2025.

It is a competition announced by the ESU of Padua, aimed at students regularly enrolled, for the relevant academic year, at the University in bachelor's degree courses, master's degree courses, single-cycle master's degree courses, and doctoral programs. The goal is to address situations of particular and exceptional economic hardship. The extraordinary subsidy can be awarded only once during the course of study for each student and is limited to obtaining the first degree for each level of study. Furthermore, it is incompatible with scholarships provided by funds allocated by the Veneto Region, the University of Padua, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regions with special statutes, autonomous provinces, or any other intervention, even extraordinary, granted by any other public or private entity for the relevant academic year.

Application submission period: from December 5, 2023, to February 6, 2024, at 12:00 PM

Target Audience: Students enrolled for the academic year 2023/24 in the study courses at the University of Padua, who meet suitable merit and income requirements, and who are in conditions of physical, psychological, social, family, and/or economic disadvantage.

Type: Contributions with a gross amount ranging between 1,500.00 Euros and 3,000.00 Euros each.
