ESU Housing Competition and Extraordinary Subsidies
Unipd students have the opportunity to find accommodation in many types of residences, colleges, apartments, in several cases affiliated with the University. There is also a lot of accommodation available for international students, for which there is also an International Housing Office.

Out-of-campus and commuter students enrolled or in the course of enrolment in bachelor's, master's, single-cycle master's degree courses, PhD, specialization schools (non-medical area) can participate in the competition for the assignment of ESU accommodation.
The benefit is granted only for the achievement of the first degree for each level of study and as a priority, to non-campus students in possession of suitable merit and income requirements.
For the definition of the status of out of campus and commuter , strictly follow the Geographical Distances Table published by ESU and the University.
Students with motor or visual impairments can participate regardless of residence.
To access the accommodation with full and reduced rate you must meet the following requirements:
- students enrolled in the first years: only income requirements (from Isee/Iee university certificate)
- enrolled in subsequent years: merit requirements (as of 10-08-2025), and income (from Isee/Iee university certificate)
Online Application
Starting from 10 am on 4 July 2025 it is possible to fill in the application within the deadlines indicated below – exclusively by accessing the online services of the ESU of Padova from the institutional portal Sportello studente.
Deadlines for submitting the online application:
- Subsequent years: students/PhD students/residents (no medical area): 19 August 2025 (10 am)
- First years: EU/international students/PhD students/postgraduates (no medical area): 26 August 2025 (10 am)
The merit requirements (credits) must be met by August 10, 2025.
Before proceeding with the insertion of the application , it is necessary to carefully read the Notice of competition for housing A.Y. 2025 – 2026" and the Instructions for filling out the online application.
The Regional Authority for the Right to Education (ESU) provides a financial contribution to cover the expenses incurred for the remuneration of qualified personnel who assist the student during the lessons of the course of study. The deadline for submitting the application is Monday, October 6, 2025, 10 a.m.

It is a competition announced by the ESU of Padova aimed at students regularly enrolled, for the academic year of reference, at the University in three-year, master's, single-cycle master's degree courses, research doctorates and intended to remedy situations of particular and exceptional economic hardship. The extraordinary subsidy can be awarded only once during the course of each student's studies and limited to the achievement of the first degree for each level of study. It is also incompatible with the scholarship provided with funds allocated by the Veneto Region, the University of Padua, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regions with special statutes, autonomous provinces or with other intervention, even extraordinary, provided by any other public or private entity for the academic year of reference.
Application Period:
from November 19, 2025 to December 22, 2025, 10 a.m.
To whom it is addressed: students enrolled for the A.Y. 2023/24 inthe degree courses of the University of Padova, in possession of suitable merit and income requirements, who are in conditions of physical, mental, social, family and / or economic disadvantage.
Type: contributions with a gross amount between €1,500.00 and €3,000.00 each.
