The CLA - Centro Linguistico di Ateneo provides language courses (English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese) for regular students, LLP-Erasmus students, professors, administrative staff. Thanks to the multimedia-laboratory facilities, both budding and experienced linguists can follow traditional lessons or choose from a host of self-taught courses.

The University Language Centre is involved in the dissemination of knowledge of modern languages taught at the University and of Italian as a foreign language; it’s open also to external users.

The Centre organises courses, subsidiary didactic activities, paths for self-learning and linguistic knowledge tests of various types and levels. It guides students, but also teachers and university staff, in learning and improving the knowledge of foreign languages. It features a media library whose bibliographic and documentary heritage can be used by everyone.

In order to apply for the University of Padova, students must provide certificates to prove their language competences in Italian and/or English as follows:

• A2 Italian level (for students attending course units in Italian)
• B1 English level (for students attending course units in English)

These conditions apply for students coming to Padova under the "Erasmus+ for study" programme between Programme Countries. Different programmes may apply specific conditions. It is therefore highly recommended that exchange students address the respective contact person for each specific programme they are interested in.
