Academic year 2026/27

To access first-cycle degree programmes or single-cycle master's degree programmes, it is always necessary to sit an admission test, which is used to draw up admission rankings (possibly also in combination with other criteria) for limited-access programmes, or to determine eligibility for enrolment for open-access programmes.

Minimum score thresholds may apply to the tests, or to specific sections of each test: anyone who obtains a score below these thresholds is assigned an additional learning requirement (OFA), namely an additional examination to verify that they have made up the knowledge required by the programme.

Detailed information on the admission tests, the selection procedures, any rankings, and the assignment of OFA is published in the admission notices or calls for applications.

Below you can find information on the admission tests and links to the Admission Notices/Calls for Applications for the programmes that use them.

For those applying with a qualification obtained abroad: information on procedures and deadlines

TOLC

The TOLC is the test used for admission to most of the degree programmes offered by the University; it is an individual test to be taken on a computer, administered by the CISIA consortium.

TOLC tests are administered in "TOLC @CASA" mode (online) or in "TOLC@UNI" mode (in a physical classroom at the University). Both modes are considered valid for admission to the degree programmes offered by the University of Padua. It is possible to take the test at any consortium university included in the list of CISIA participating venues and use it for admission to the courses of the University of Padua.

Warning: simply taking the TOLC is not sufficient for admission to the courses. You must carefully read the admission notice/call for applications for the course you are interested in to find out which type of TOLC is required, and the procedures and deadlines for all the mandatory procedures.

For those applying with a qualification obtained abroad, information on procedures and deadlines is available on the page https://www.unipd.it/ammissione-studenti-internazionali

Registration for the TOLC

The calendar containing the dates and venues available for taking the "TOLC@UNI" and "TOLC @CASA" tests can be consulted on the dedicated page of the CISIA portal.

The TOLC tests are considered valid for admission to the courses of the University of Padua even if taken at other CISIA member universities, either in "TOLC @CASA" mode (online) or in "TOLC@UNI" mode (in a physical classroom of the University).

Registration for the TOLC is completed on the CISIA website and requires payment of a fee of €35.00.

The test must be booked, until all places are filled, at least 7-10 days in advance of the test date. It is therefore advisable to book well in advance, in order to meet the deadlines set out in your admission notice/call for applications, or, for those applying with a foreign entry qualification, on the page https://www.unipd.it/ammissione-studenti-internazionali

Further information is available on the CISIA FAQ page: https://www.cisiaonline.it/faq-cisia-archivio-tolc/
For assistance with booking the TOLC, please refer to the CISIA contacts, available on the page https://helpdesk.cisiaonline.it/

In urgent cases where it is necessary to take the TOLC within the deadlines set out in the admission notice/call for applications, and if no dates are available on the CISIA portal, you may contact the following address for assistance: immatricolazioni.studenti@unipd.it

Acquisition of the TOLC result

The acquisition of the TOLC takes place via the Tax identification number, which must be entered during registration on the CISIA portal (the portal through which the TOLC is taken) and on the Uniweb portal (the portal through which enrolment procedures for the University of Padua are carried out).
