OUR COMMITMENT TO RESEARCH ON GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND DISCRIMINATION

A commitment to combat all forms of discrimination, harassment and gender-based violence: this is the UNIRE - Responsible University project, a structured and unified action plan that includes training sessions, research and awareness-raising activities and the opening of a listening and support desk.

In order to support research activities in various fields of knowledge (economic, psycho-social, medical and cultural), a fundraising campaign is underway to finance annual research grants of 26,500 euros each to address the issue of discrimination and gender-based violence through a multidisciplinary approach.

Research, by way of example, could focus on the following areas:
> Research on financial education - Why is it important for everyone to be financially literate? What is gender-based economic violence? How does it manifest itself, how can it be prevented and how can it be countered? Can appropriate economic and financial education act as a preventive factor?
> Economic research - How can gender bias be managed in companies? What is the impact of gender inequalities on the economy, on different production sectors and on companies? What rules and interventions are relevant to support equal opportunities in the workplace?
> Psycho-social research - What interventions related to affectivity education, understanding and appreciation of diversity, inclusion, acceptance and understanding of the other are needed to prevent gender-based violence? What are the personality traits, psychological pathologies and motivations that drive such violent behaviour? How do young people deal with gender-based violence?
> Medical research - Is there gender discrimination in healthcare? Why is it necessary for medicine to take into account the differences between males and females? Why is paying attention to gender an indispensable element for scientific and pharmacological research to proceed correctly?

Your commitment is important.
