The inauguration of the academic year
The inauguration ceremony of the academic year represents a solemn moment for the University, during which the various components of the academic community come together in a unified sense of belonging, each bringing their own voice. This ceremony, held in the Aula Magna of Palazzo del Bo in Padua, symbolically marks the official opening of our University's activities.
The ceremony is attended by Italian and foreign rectors, the academic community, authorities, and representatives of institutions, following the centuries-old tradition of Unipd.
The inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year, marking 804 years since the founding of the University of Padua
The official opening of the 804rd academic year of the University of Padua - a.y. 2025/26 - will be proclaimed on March 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM by Rector Daniela Mapelli in the Aula Magna of Palazzo del Bo, with the participation of Professor Elena Cattaneo, scientist and senator for life.
The ceremony, by invitation only, will also be streamed live on the University of Padua's YouTube channel.
