Make it Happen! - Come to the MSCA MAraThon 2020


After three successful editions, the University of Padua is offering a new MSCA MaRaThoN between Wednesday 6 and Friday 15 May 2020.

Due to the Covid-19 emergency MSCA MaRaThoN 2020 is responsibly and fully delivered online trough a combination of recorded thematic videos, writing workshops and mandatory live stream classes. Check out the detailed programme and learn about the our invited experts. The training is free and designed to allow maximum participation. Deadline for applications is 21 April 2020 at 1 p.m. Italian time zone.

MSCA MaRaThoN is addressed to top candidates who wish to apply for the upcoming Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Individual Fellowships (MSCA –IF) call indicating the University of Padua as their Host Institution.

The training programme offers researchers the opportunity to gain more information about the MSCA-Individual Fellowships 2020 call. When applying for the course, please check and choose your type of fellowship and make sure you comply with the MSCA Mobility Rule.

Participants will meet online and work with experts providing specific advice and useful tips on how to best draft project proposals. Applications are now open!

 is 21 April 2020, at 1:00 p.m. Italian time zone.

What we look for
We are looking for experienced researchers (the MSCA definition applies: at the date of the call deadline, in possession of a doctoral degree or with at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience), with an excellent CV and research track record (e.g., one publication without their PhD supervisor, a pubblication as first author, a monograph). Applicants are expected to be open minded and willing to collaborate with our research groups.

What we offer
The training course is free, fully delivered online and open to 40 potential MSCA fellow candidates. Selected participants will be provided with the necessary information and support to effectively access all course modules, webinars and resources.

Who can apply
You can apply to the MSCA Marathon 2020 if, at the date of the relevant deadline for the submission of IF proposals (9 September 2020):
- you possess a PhD or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience;
- you comply with the mobility rule of the MSCA;
- you choose the University of Padova as your Host Institution.

Check the application folder and contact a potential supervisor at the University of Padua following the instructions below. Please note that evaluation of candidates is mainly based on their research profile and completeness of their application. Make sure you contact your supervisor at the University of Padua: you need to have his/her Department letter of acceptance signed by the Head of Department and included in your folder.

When you are not funded but receive the Seal of Excellence - MSCA

In case you choose the University of Padua as your Host Institution within the MSCA-IF Call and your project is not selected for funding, but the European Commission awards you the “Seal of Excellence – MSC Actions”, the University offers you an alternative funding under the MSCA Seal of Excellence@University of Padua programme. Once the Seal of Excellence is issued, you may apply for a grant of 50.000 Euros per project year (covering an employment contract and a 10.000 Euro budget for research, networking and training activities).
