Tuition fee exemptions

Students enrolled in degree programmes who intend to graduate by December 31, 2026 do not have to pay the first instalment for the 2026/27 academic year.

Those who complete their graduation application (and who are unable to obtain their degree in the final session scheduled for the 2025/26 academic year) do not incur late-payment penalties on the first instalment for the 2026/27 academic year.

Students enrolled in the first year of degree programmes who earn 20 CFU by 10/08/2027 are granted a full exemption.

Students enrolled in the first year of degree programmes who do not earn 20 CFU by 10/08/2027 are granted a partial exemption (regional tax and 50% of the all-inclusive fee).

Students regularly enrolled in years after the first are granted a full exemption.

Students enrolled in the first year beyond the normal duration of the programme are granted a partial exemption (regional tax and 50% of the all-inclusive fee).

Students who are children of victims in the line of duty, falling within the provisions of Law no. 266/2005, Article 1, paragraphs 563 and 564, or children of victims of terrorism and massacres of that nature under Law no. 206/2004, or children of recipients of a disability pension (with 100% disability) pursuant to Article 30 of Law 118/1971, are granted a full exemption from the all-inclusive fee.

The application for this exemption is deemed submitted upon prior transmission of the relevant documentation to the email address benefici.studenti@unipd.it, by 30 September 2027.

Students with disabilities with a disability rating between 66% and 100% or with certification pursuant to Law no. 104 (art. 3, paragraph 1) are entitled to a full exemption, which only requires payment of the stamp duty.

Students with disabilities with a disability rating between 50% and 65% and an ISEE of € 70.000,00 or less are entitled to a partial exemption, which requires payment of a fixed annual contribution of 380,00 Euro, in addition to the regional tax and the stamp duty (the contribution is included in the first installment for those enrolling in years after the first).

The application for this exemption is considered submitted by reporting your disability in your reserved area on Uniweb and by sending the relevant certification to the Student Services Office (inclusione.studenti@unipd.it).

Students engaged in work activities, or who, due to work or family commitments or for health reasons, believe they can devote only part of their time to studying, may apply for the benefits available to working students or, alternatively, may choose part-time enrollment.

Students incarcerated in penal institutions in Triveneto are eligible for a partial exemption, which requires the payment of a single installment of 208 euro.

Students simultaneously enrolled in the same academic year and belonging to the same household with an ISEE of up to 50,000 euros are granted a reduction of 200.00 euros, which is applied automatically.

The application for the partial fee waiver is considered submitted by authorizing the acquisition of the ISEE and by checking the appropriate box indicating one’s status as a member of a household with other family members enrolled in the same academic year at the University of Padua in the “Request for benefits” section, available in your reserved area on Uniweb.

The application must be completed and confirmed by 30 November 2026.

The memorandum of understanding signed by the University of Padua and the Ministry for Public Administration guarantees facilitated access to some degree programmes for employees of public administrations. The benefits consist of a reduction in tuition fees.

Staff in service at the University of Padua, including those with a contract activated during the academic year, are entitled to a partial exemption requiring payment of 40% of the all-inclusive fee calculated on the basis of their economic situation (stamp duty and the regional tax remain due).
The exemption request must be submitted starting from September 2026, using the online procedure available in Uniweb, under Didattica > Dichiarazioni aggiuntive iscrizione annuale.

Officers of the Corpo di Polizia Penitenziaria serving at the Due Palazzi prison are granted a partial exemption that entails payment of a fixed annual contribution of 380.00 euros, in addition to the regional tax and stamp duty.

Students enrolled in the first year with the following academic merit are eligible for a partial fee waiver from the all-inclusive tuition fee, consisting of a reduction of 200.00 euros applied automatically to the second and third instalments:

• bachelor’s degree programmes and single-cycle master’s degree programmes: final secondary school grade of 60/60 or 100/100.
• master’s degree programmes: bachelor’s degree final grade of 110/110 or 110/110 with honours.

Student mothers and student fathers are entitled to a partial exemption from the all-inclusive fee in the academic year in which their child is born, which entails the payment of a fixed annual contribution of 380.00 euros, in addition to the regional tax and stamp duty.

It is also possible to submit a specific request for one year of suspension for maternity, which does not entail the payment of any contribution upon resumption.
A further concession for those who study while also being engaged in the care of their child is part-time enrollment.

Students with refugee status, subsidiary protection status, or asylum-seeker status who are enrolled sub conditione are granted a full exemption from the all-inclusive tuition fee, including the pre-enrolment fee; however, stamp duty and the regional fee for the right to university education remain due.

Students who make use of the recognition of the foreign qualification issued by CIMEA (Centro Informazioni Mobilità Equivalenze Accademiche) service under the agreement between the University and CIMEA (by creating their account on MyDiplome) and who subsequently complete their enrollment will receive reimbursement of the amount spent through an automatic reduction of the second or third installment, unless they are already beneficiaries of scholarships or full fee waivers.
