When choosing and enrolling at a university, rankings are tools that can be useful to understand the positioning of universities both internationally and nationally.
This year Unipd had already obtained an excellent evaluation in the Cwur and QS rankings, for which our university is in the top 20% in the world, we reconfirmed our excellent performance in the evaluation published by the Chinese agency Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, in connection with the University of Shanghai.
The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020, which takes into consideration more than 4000 universities from 90 countries around the world, evaluates universities "by discipline" in 5 different fields: natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences. Published on June 29th, the results of the survey placed the University of Padua on a podium several times, ranking it among the best universities in the world.
In particular, Padua is first in Italy for:
- Hydraulic engineering (23rd worldwide)
- Agricultural sciences (49th worldwide)
- Telecommunications engineering (ranged between 50-75 worldwide)
- Statistics (76-100)
- Medical technologies (50-75)
- Psychology (101-150), together with La Sapienza
- Science of the Earth(101-150)
- Ecology (151-200)
- Educational sciences(151-200)
According to the Chinese ranking, there are many other subjects in which Unipd excels including Physics, for which it is second in Italy and 34th worldwide, and Automation & Control (second and 38th).
