On October 15th at the Palazzo Bo, in the Aula Nievo, there will be the first official presentation of the Arqus Alliance to the University of Padua governance, its academic body, and public authorities. The Arqus European University Alliance brings together the universities of Bergen, Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon, Padua, and Vilnius, seven longstanding comprehensive research universities who share extensive experience in joint projects and a common profile as internationalized institutions with deep regional engagement.
The Arqus European University Alliance, whose works officially started on October 1st, is one of the 17 thematic consortia selected by the European Commission under the European program "European Universities". This alliance recognises the University of Padua for its action line experience in "Widening Access, Inclusion, and Diversity". In addition to broader access and inclusive university policies, the alliance also promotes innovative teaching and learning methods, multilingualism in the university community, sustainable development through research, education, and awareness in a European context, as well as is the involvement of organisations and companies from local territories.

On October 15th at the Palazzo Bo, in the Aula Nievo, there will be the first official presentation of the Arqus Alliance to the University of Padua governance, its academic body, and public authorities. The Arqus European University Alliance brings together the universities of Bergen, Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon, Padua, and Vilnius, seven longstanding comprehensive research universities who share extensive experience in joint projects and a common profile as internationalized institutions with deep regional engagement.
The Arqus European University Alliance, whose works officially started on October 1st, is one of the 17 thematic consortia selected by the European Commission under the European program "European Universities". This alliance recognises the University of Padua for its action line experience in "Widening Access, Inclusion, and Diversity". In addition to broader access and inclusive university policies, the alliance also promotes innovative teaching and learning methods, multilingualism in the university community, sustainable development through research, education, and awareness in a European context, as well as is the involvement of organisations and companies from local territories.
With this meeting, the University of Padua will demonstrate its commitment to pursuing the Argus objectives. With the continuation of the work needed to achieve the various components of the long-term Arqus vision, the University remains dedicated to full inclusion and the openness to future agreements.
The Arqus Alliance has coordinated a meeting for October 18th at the University of Granada to establish the Rector's Council. The Rector’s Council is the body of government responsible for lines of policy, long and short-term strategies, as well as defining the Argus objectives. On behalf of the University of Padua, Prorector of International Relations, Alessandro Paccagnella, will officially sign the partnership agreement in person.
Arqus acts as a fundamental tool needed for us to face the challenges within Europe and beyond during the 21st century both within the University of Padua well as other universities.
