The University Board of Directors approved urgent support by allocating € 910,000 to support both students and scholars from Ukraine and other nations under long-term and temporary international protection. A crowdfunding campaign has also been activated by the University’s Fundraising Office.

The Board of Directors approved urgent support with an economic commitment of 445,000 euros (of which 38,000 euros derives from lost revenue) for the 2021/2022 academic year, and in 465,000 euros (of which 50,000 euros derives from expected lost revenue) for the 2022/2023 academic year, for a total commitment of 910,000 euros.

Additional support for Ukrainian students for the 2021/2022 academic year include:

  • exemption from the third tuition fee installment
  • 13 scholarships valued at 3,100 euros for students not currently receiving financial aid for the 021/2022 academic year
  • exemption from paying tuition fees for single courses (for students transferring from Ukrainian universities due to the ongoing political and military crises, and those under long-term and temporary international protection)
  • allocating a maximum of 50 scholarships (valued at 3,100 euros each) to students requesting economic needs and enrolled in single courses

Additional support for Ukrainian students currently residing in Ukraine or transferring from Ukrainian universities due to the ongoing political and military crises, and those under long-term and temporary international protection for the 2022/2023 academic year include:

  • exemption from all tuition fees
  • 75 scholarships valued at 6,200 euros for those requesting economic need (criteria will be defined based on the respective calls).

The University of Padua also provides support for scholars who, as a result of political and military crises in progress, have been granted long-term and temporary international protection; 12 months (max) Research Fellowships co-financed (50% minimum) by the proposing department for a total of 250,000 euros.

Additional support for Russian and Belarusian students is also included in the plan by extending the third tuition fee installment for June 30, 2022. Should the international crisis persist beyond that date, students may request the suspension or delay of payments to ensure the continuation of their course of study based on valid qualifications.

A crowdfunding campaign has also been activated by the University’s Fundraising Office to support both students and scholars from Ukraine and other nations under long-term and temporary international protection. Donate now
