This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Erasmus Mundus programme, the European Commission initiative that provides for the joint delivery of master’s programmes (equivalent to master's degrees in Italy) in collaboration with international partners, conceived and carried out jointly by a group of higher education institutions. Joint Master programmes involve at least three institutions from at least three different countries and multiple associated partners from both academic and non-academic sectors; they include periods of study, research, internships, preparation, and discussion of a thesis.

For this reason, the University of Padua was awarded an Institutional Award as it is among the 10 institutions that have participated in the Erasmus Mundus programme for the longest time. “For its outstanding contribution to the success of the Erasmus Mundus action within the Erasmus+ programme, as one of the select few institutions with the longest and largest participation in this action, and as a beacon of excellence in the delivery of Erasmus Mundus programmes.”

The award was presented by the European Commission on Monday, May 27, in Brussels. It was received by Mara Thiene, delegate for Joint Degrees and International Rankings at the University of Padua. “The University of Padua has been participating in this programme since 2004, with 39 joint degree programmes,” commented Mara Thiene. “The Erasmus Mundus programmes have had an extremely positive impact on our University, in terms of expanding collaborations with foreign universities, the ability to attract quality students from all over the world, the adoption of innovative teaching methodologies, implications for the reputation of our University also in international rankings, and finally a significant improvement in administrative processes and services offered to students. Quest’anno ricorre il 20° anniversario del programma Erasmus Mundus, l’iniziativa della Commissione europea che prevede l’erogazione congiunta di master (equivalenti ai corsi di laurea magistrale in Italia) in collaborazione con partner internazionali, concepiti e realizzati congiuntamente da un gruppo di istituti di istruzione superiore. I master congiunti (Joint Master) coinvolgono almeno tre istituti di almeno tre paesi diversi e molteplici partner associati del mondo accademico e non accademico; comprendono periodi di studio, ricerca, tirocinio, preparazione e discussione di una tesi.

L’Università di Padova è stata insignita di un Institutional Award perché rientra tra le 10 istituzioni che partecipa al programma Erasmus Mundus da più tempo e con più ampia partecipazione.

Questa la motivazione del premio: “Per l’eccezionale contributo al successo dell’azione Erasmus Mundus nell’ambito del programma Erasmus+, in quanto una delle poche istituzioni selezionate con la più lunga e ampia partecipazione a questa azione, e come faro d’eccellenza nella realizzazione dei programmi Erasmus Mundus”.

Il premio è stato consegnato dalla Commissione europea ieri, lunedì 27 maggio, al Plaza Hotel di Bruxelles. A ritirarlo è stata Mara Thiene, delegata ai Joint degree e ranking internazionali dell’Università di Padova, che ha preso parte al panel relativo agli impatti istituzionali degli Erasmus Mundus.
«L’Università di Padova partecipa a questo programma fin dal 2004, con 39 corsi di laurea congiunti – commenta Mara Thiene –. Gli Erasmus Mundus hanno generato un impatto estremamente positivo sul nostro Ateneo, in termini di ampliamento delle collaborazioni con atenei stranieri, possibilità di attrarre studenti e studentesse di qualità da tutti i paesi del mondo, adozione di metodologie didattiche innovative, implicazioni sulla reputazione del nostro Ateneo anche nei ranking internazionali e infine un notevole miglioramento dei processi amministrativi e dei servizi offerti alla comunità studentesca. Questo riconoscimento è il frutto di una strategia istituzionale che il nostro Ateneo ha perseguito e sostenuto nel tempo, volta al supporto dell’internazionalizzazione e nello specifico dei corsi di laurea a titolo congiunto». Al momento sono 11 gli Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters attivi all'Università di Padova.

A confermare l’impegno nel programma europeo di mobilità per studio, il Dipartimento di Ingegneria civile, edile e ambientale (ICEA) dell’Ateneo patavino è coordinatore del nuovo master congiunto Erasmus Mundus su Climate Change and Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development (CCD–STeDe) – Cambiamenti climatici e diversità: sviluppo territoriale sostenibile –, unico Erasmus Mundus coordinato dall’Università di Padova. Si tratta di un corso di laurea magistrale che mira a preparare esperti nell’area dello sviluppo territoriale sostenibile nel contesto del clima e delle emergenze ambientali globali.

Alla conferenza per il 20° anniversario del programma Erasmus Mundus di ieri, l’Università di Padova ha vinto anche un secondo premio: il Master CCD–STeDe si è infatti aggiudicato il Best Poster Award “per il suo modo eccezionale e tangibile di mostrare l’impatto di questo programma di master Erasmus Mundus a più livelli”

«L’Erasmus Mundus CCD-STEDE affonda le sue radici nel 2010, quando si chiamava solo STEDE, poi nel tempo ha accompagnato i cambiamenti – afferma Massimo De Marchi, General Coordinator del Joint Master Programme on Climate Change and Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development (CCD-STeDe) e docente dell’Università di Padova –. Oggi è un programma in tre continenti e quattro lingue (inglese, spagnolo, francese e portoghese) con cinque università che erogano il titolo: due europee (Padova e Madeira) due africane (Johannesburg e Ouagadougou) e una latinoamericana (Universdidad Andina Simon Bolivar di Quito). Il bello dell’Erasmus Mundus è che non sono semplicemente partnership tra università, ma costruzione di laboratori territoriali in cinque regioni: Europa del sud, Macaronesia, Sahel, Africa australe, Amazzonia andina. Le esperienze di apprendimento e di co-costruzione delle conoscenze avvengono proprio muovendosi tra territori».

Il premio è stato consegnato dalla Commissione europea ieri, lunedì 27 maggio, al Plaza Hotel di Bruxelles. A ritirarlo è stata Mara Thiene, delegata ai Joint degree e ranking internazionali dell’Università di Padova, che ha preso parte al panel relativo agli impatti istituzionali degli Erasmus Mundus.
«L’Università di Padova partecipa a questo programma fin dal 2004, con 39 corsi di laurea congiunti – commenta Mara Thiene –. L’Università di Padova è stata insignita di un Institutional Award perché rientra tra le 10 istituzioni che partecipa al programma Erasmus Mundus da più tempo e con più ampia partecipazione.

Questa la motivazione del premio: “Per l’eccezionale contributo al successo dell’azione Erasmus Mundus nell’ambito del programma Erasmus+, in quanto una delle poche istituzioni selezionate con la più lunga e ampia partecipazione a questa azione, e come faro d’eccellenza nella realizzazione dei programmi Erasmus Mundus”.

Il premio è stato consegnato dalla Commissione europea ieri, lunedì 27 maggio, al Plaza Hotel di Bruxelles. A ritirarlo è stata Mara Thiene, delegata ai Joint degree e ranking internazionali dell’Università di Padova, che ha preso parte al panel relativo agli impatti istituzionali degli Erasmus Mundus.
«L’Università di Padova partecipa a questo programma fin dal 2004, con 39 corsi di laurea congiunti – commenta Mara Thiene –. Gli Erasmus Mundus hanno generato un impatto estremamente positivo sul nostro Ateneo, in termini di ampliamento delle collaborazioni con atenei stranieri, possibilità di attrarre studenti e studentesse di qualità da tutti i paesi del mondo, adozione di metodologie didattiche innovative, implicazioni sulla reputazione del nostro Ateneo anche nei ranking internazionali e infine un notevole miglioramento dei processi amministrativi e dei servizi offerti alla comunità studentesca. Questo riconoscimento è il frutto di una strategia istituzionale che il nostro Ateneo ha perseguito e sostenuto nel tempo, volta al supporto dell’internazionalizzazione e nello specifico dei corsi di laurea a titolo congiunto». Al momento sono 11 gli Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters attivi all'Università di Padova.

A confermare l’impegno nel programma europeo di mobilità per studio, il Dipartimento di Ingegneria civile, edile e ambientale (ICEA) dell’Ateneo patavino è coordinatore del nuovo master congiunto Erasmus Mundus su Climate Change and Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development (CCD–STeDe) – Cambiamenti climatici e diversità: sviluppo territoriale sostenibile –, unico Erasmus Mundus coordinato dall’Università di Padova. Si tratta di un corso di laurea magistrale che mira a preparare esperti nell’area dello sviluppo territoriale sostenibile nel contesto del clima e delle emergenze ambientali globali.

Alla conferenza per il 20° anniversario del programma Erasmus Mundus di ieri, l’Università di Padova ha vinto anche un secondo premio: il Master CCD–STeDe si è infatti aggiudicato il Best Poster Award “per il suo modo eccezionale e tangibile di mostrare l’impatto di questo programma di master Erasmus Mundus a più livelli”

«L’Erasmus Mundus CCD-STEDE affonda le sue radici nel 2010, quando si chiamava solo STEDE, poi nel tempo ha accompagnato i cambiamenti – afferma Massimo De Marchi, General Coordinator del Joint Master Programme on Climate Change and Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development (CCD-STeDe) e docente dell’Università di Padova –. Oggi è un programma in tre continenti e quattro lingue (inglese, spagnolo, francese e portoghese) con cinque università che erogano il titolo: due europee (Padova e Madeira) due africane (Johannesburg e Ouagadougou) e una latinoamericana (Universdidad Andina Simon Bolivar di Quito). Il bello dell’Erasmus Mundus è che non sono semplicemente partnership tra università, ma costruzione di laboratori territoriali in cinque regioni: Europa del sud, Macaronesia, Sahel, Africa australe, Amazzonia andina. Le esperienze di apprendimento e di co-costruzione delle conoscenze avvengono proprio muovendosi tra territori».

Quest’anno ricorre il 20° anniversario del programma Erasmus Mundus, l’iniziativa della Commissione europea che prevede l’erogazione congiunta di master (equivalenti ai corsi di laurea magistrale in Italia) in collaborazione con partner internazionali, concepiti e realizzati congiuntamente da un gruppo di istituti di istruzione superiore. I master congiunti (Joint Master) coinvolgono almeno tre istituti di almeno tre paesi diversi e molteplici partner associati del mondo accademico e non accademico; comprendono periodi di studio, ricerca, tirocinio, preparazione e discussione di una tesi.
