Abstract
Formative assessment in itinere is configured as a central device to support authentic and lasting learning processes in university contexts. It allows the focus to be shifted from the mere measurement of results to the understanding of the path taken by the student, enhancing their commitment, reflection and ability to self-regulate. In line with the principles of Assessment for Learning (Doria, 2025; Sambell et al., 2013) and process evaluation (Guskey & Bailey, 2010), this approach makes feedback a constitutive element of the learning experience, promoting autonomy and awareness. Through formative tests built with transparent criteria consistent with disciplinary objectives, teachers can create opportunities for continuous monitoring and evaluation dialogue that nurture motivation and deep learning.
The proposed workshop aims to encourage university professors to reflect on the role of formative assessment in cognitive construction processes and to develop skills to design and integrate formative tests in the different disciplines starting from the objectives stated in the Syllabus, so that evaluation really becomes an integral part of the teaching-course unit.

Abstract
This seminar aims to raise awareness of the potential in teaching storytelling and digital storytelling in teaching. Narratives, both traditional and digital, have proven effective in stimulating reflective practice, making tacit knowledge explicit, and enhancing the student learning experience.
The workshop will begin by exploring the theoretical foundations of storytelling, examining how narratives function as cognitive tools that help students organize, contextualize, and reflect on disciplinary content. The neuroscientific aspects of storytelling will be analyzed, deepening how stories activate brain processes that facilitate greater engagement, emotional connection and better retention of concepts.
Through practical examples and case studies from different disciplinary contexts, the ways in which storytelling can be implemented to develop future professional skills and critical thinking in students will be illustrated.

Abstract
Studying at university requires not only good cognitive skills, but it involves emotional and motivational components that sometimes matter more than the skills that students have.
Another key aspect for a successful university career is related to the ability to plan and organize one's time.
This workshop addresses the first part of the topic of strategic learning by focusing on how to foster a functional approach to study.
The second part is scheduled for April 23.

Thursday 23 April 2026 - 14:00-17:00
The workshop will be in Italian.
Abstract
Thinking of the university student, it is taken for granted that the experience with studying has made it possible to develop functional strategies for the processing of the text (paper and not) as well as its memorization. In reality this is not always the case, this becomes problematic when the use of non-functional strategies is associated with difficulties in the course of study.
In this second workshop on the theme of strategic learning, we will reflect on how to promote, through teaching, functional strategies for the elaboration of study material and its memorization.
Prof. ssa Barbara Carretti
She is a full professor at the Department of General Psychology of the University of Padua. His research interests concern memory, reading comprehension and reading from the point of view of individual differences. For years she has been engaged, both on the research side and in the application in clinical and educational contexts, in the development of tools for the evaluation and promotion of good comprehension skills.

Tuesday 12 May 2026 - 14:00-16:30
The workshop will be in Italian.
*Aimed primarily at professors in the humanities area
Abstract
The workshop represents an opportunity for teachers who want to enrich their teaching approach and transform students into active protagonists of their own learning. This teaching methodology is particularly effective in stimulating critical thinking, problem-solving skills and soft skills, promoting deep and lasting learning.
The workshop will address both the theoretical and practical aspects of the implementation of case studies in the classroom. Through practical experience, versatile tools will be provided to build and use case studies in a flexible way, adapting them to different needs and areas of study. An experiential approach will be adopted, allowing participants to experience first-hand the potential of case studies in university course unit.
Strategies for the effective management of group work, the facilitation of discussions in the ministerial field of study code and the evaluation of learning through this approach will be discussed. A particular focus will be dedicated to the change in the role of the lecturer, who is transformed from a transmitter of knowledge to a facilitator of learning. The challenges and opportunities associated with this new role will be examined, including time management, the balance between the use of case studies and course programme coverage, and the use of this methodology as an assessment tool.
Prof. ssa Maja Roch
She is an associate professor at the Department of Developmental and Socialization Psychology and Change Agent of the University of Padua. Her research focuses on the development of language and communication in children, with particular attention to multilingualism and neurodevelopmental disorders. She is also involved in the development of psycho-educational interventions for parents and educators to promote language skills in children with typical and atypical development.
Online - Zoom
Thursday 21 May 2026 - 14:30-16:00
The workshop will be in Italian.
Abstract
This workshop proposes a strategic approach: starting not from technology, but from specific teaching and learning objectives.
Often the choice of a digital tool risks being guided by novelty rather than by actual pedagogical effectiveness. The meeting aims to reverse this trend, providing participants with a method to consciously select the most suitable environments and tools to support the students' educational path, drawing on the University's digital ecosystem.
Durante the workshop, participants will learn how to:
clearly define their learning objectives (whether cognitive, practical or collaborative);
analyze the functional characteristics of the different technologies available;
use effective criteria to map the tools according to specific teaching needs, ensuring an informed and functional choice.
Prof. Cinzia Ferranti
She is a learning designer and trainer in the integration of digital technologies for teaching at the University of Padua. He has been involved for years in the didactic design of courses in online and blended learning environments and teacher training at various institutions and universities.
He is a lecturer in "New technologies for learning", "Digital environments for online and face-to-face teaching" and "Tools for digital storytelling" at the University of Ferrara.
