Support scientific research

We recognise the fundamental role of research, guarantee its full freedom and promote its development through the use of public and private funding, within a national and international framework of reference.
Supporting research means investing in the future of society.
Unipd was ranked the leading university in Italy for the quality of its research as certified by the reports of the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System (ANVUR), placing Padua in the excellence bracket.
The presence of a wide range of disciplines and fields of knowledge creates the ideal setting for carrying out frontier research, capable of harnessing the high level of specialised knowledge and expertise developed within the departments, suited to addressing a complex reality through the integration of different research areas.

This year Science4All, the Science Festival of the University of Padua, scheduled from 25 to 27 September, brings with it something new: the opportunity to purchase the Festival’s official T-shirt from the UNIPD Store. A simple gesture that supports research: for every T-shirt purchased, 1 euro will be allocated to research on climate change.
Support one of our projects
Climate change project - the research focuses on developing concrete strategies to counter rising temperatures. Sustainable, low-energy solutions, such as shading, urban greenery, natural ventilation and the use of reflective materials.
Project UniRe - Responsible University - research activities in different fields of knowledge to combat all forms of discrimination, harassment and gender-based violence
Bark beetle emergency - research into the new emergency that is currently threatening our forests: the bark beetle infestation, an endemic beetle that has reached an extraordinary level of spread in recent years
Project Wish - Women Intimate Shelter - an innovative medical research project on the pathophysiological consequences of partner violence on women's bodies
There are many ways to support research:
PhD research programme
The PhD is a three-year programme open to those who have completed a master's degree. Its objective is the acquisition of advanced scientific knowledge or highly specialised professional expertise.
Research contract
This is a fixed-term subordinate employment contract lasting two years, entered into for the exclusive purpose of carrying out a specific research project.
Fixed-term researcher
Researchers, selected through a public procedure, carry out activities in specific areas of research and teaching.
Permanent named chair
A "named chair" means the recognition of a teaching post that is named according to the wishes of a supporter.
