Supporting scientific research

We recognise the fundamental role of research, guarantee its full freedom and promote its development by using public and private contributions, within a national and international framework of reference.
Supporting research means investing in the future of society.
Unipd has been ranked the leading university in Italy for the quality of its research, as certified by the reports of the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System (ANVUR), placing Padua in the top excellence band.
The presence of a wide range of disciplines and fields of knowledge creates the ideal environment for carrying out cutting-edge research, capable of leveraging the high level of specialised knowledge and expertise developed in the departments, suited to addressing complex reality through the integration of different research areas.
Support one of our projects
UniRe Project - Responsible University - research activities in various fields of knowledge to combat all forms of discrimination, harassment and gender-based violence
Bark beetle parasite emergency - research into the new emergency that is now threatening our forests: the bark beetle infestation, an endemic beetle that has reached an extraordinary spread in recent years
Wish Project - Women Intimate Shelter - an innovative medical research project on the pathophysiological consequences of partner violence on women's bodies
There are many ways to support research:
Research PhD
The PhD is a three-year course that can be accessed after completing a master's degree. Its aim is to acquire advanced scientific knowledge or highly specialised professional expertise.
Research contract
This is a fixed-term subordinate employment contract lasting two years, entered into for the exclusive purpose of carrying out a specific research project.
Fixed-term researcher
Researchers, selected through a public procedure, carry out activities in specific areas of research and teaching.
Endowment of a permanent chair
A "named chair" means the recognition of a teaching post that is named in accordance with the wishes of a supporter.
