iMOVES & FB: Food safety, Public health and Animal Welfare

This Summer school is mainly aimed at students of Veterinary Medicine and Food Biotechnology. The Summer School will explore crucial issues on food safety, public health and animal welfare globally. These topics all show an interconnected relationship, as students will learn more about their implications in an interdisciplinary environment.

Blended Learning (June 8-10): Taking place over three days, these classes aim to familiarize students from different institutions with each other, introduce topics by highlighting the diversity of various international contexts, and introduce students to next-generation IT tools. This part is dedicated to welcoming students from programs other than veterinary medicine.

Hands-on experience (22-26 June): The in-person part will take place over five days, with practical activities and guided visits to production plants operating in the primary sector and in the processing of terrestrial and aquatic animal products (including fish and poultry products).

Possible experience in the USA: Universities such as Texas A&M, PennVet, Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Kansas State University could host Italian students next summer.
