About myself

For me, the University of Padua was truly love at first scroll through the university website!
I have always wanted to pursue an international Master's degree right from my undergraduate days of studying Aquaculture and Fisheries. I searched through the internet for international institutions offering my courses and the University of Padua came at the top of the list. That was actually my first time of hearing anything about the institution. I visited its website and I was moved by the standard of teaching, the quality of education, the facilities and above all its ranking! I gave it a shot and here I am living my dream of pursuing an international degree from a prestigious institution.
I am naturally a social person because I believe there is more to learn outside the four walls of classroom. I like to explore the world through fashion and photograph at every chance I get because pictures serve good memories. Also, I so much love to travel during breaks and holidays just to see how beautiful other cities are.

What do you like the most about the Marine Biology degree programme? Why would you recommend it to other students?

I absolutely love the diversity of the course! It serves as a connecting dot between biology of Aquatic species in general, freshwater and Marine environment in particular, thereby embracing students from different related fields to fit in for the course, learn and improve their knowledge for biodiversity management and breeding of Aquatic species of commercial interest.

Is there any class/subject that stood out to you?

Yes, I found it difficult to choose between Farming and Feeding of Aquatic Species and Reproduction in Aquaculture. Both classes are very interactive which makes it easier for me to understand the content of the lecture. Also, it involves a lot of field trips to companies that breed and produce feed in Italy. For someone like me that likes trips, it’s definitely fun to learn.

Have you taken part in any internships, laboratories, workshops or similar activities within your academic path? If so, how do they add to your overall university experience?

The scope of my course involves a lot of laboratory works, workshops and seminars delivered by different professionals in the field, thereby improving student interest in their area of expertise.

What advice would you give to potential students thinking of studying in Italy?

Studying in Italy is fun and challenging but there are different offices here to help you scale through any obstacles you may encounter. Be determined to excel, set achievable goals and make friends because it can get lonely sometimes, and be prepared for culture shock. Professors are very friendly while still maintaining professionalism. It is safe to say studying at UNIPD is Home away from Home.

Tell me a bit about student life in Italy. What do you do for fun? What are your favourite places to spend time?

There are a lot of nice places to go in Padua but my favourite is Prato Delle Valle on Saturdays. Aside the fact that I can shop things at a more affordable rate than stores, it gives me my home country feeling of shopping at the market and I enjoy it even on days where I have nothing to buy. It gives me happiness, which is priceless!
