Anti-Racism, Social Justice and the European City

How do European cities reproduce or resist systemic racism?
This summer programme is designed for Master’s and PhD students and combines academic seminars, activist mentorship, and group projects.
You will explore colonial legacies, anti-racist urban geographies, and participatory democracy through a decolonial, challenge-based approach.
Participants will work in teams to carry out real-world actions — from campaign strategies to public art —, which will then be showcased in a final public event.
Critical urban studies, decolonial theories and visual research methods will be discussed and the city of Padua will be experienced through an urban decolonial tour, connecting theory to local practice.
This School will provide opportunities to build lasting collaborations with scholars and activists across Europe and to participate in European academic and anti-racist activism networks.
