Focus of research activity is closely linked to the optimal aeromechanical design of flying vehicles operating either in atmosphere or space, through dynamic simulation and mission analysis trade off. In particular three main lines of specialization can be identified:
• The first concerns the definition of methods for prediction and reconstruction (using measurements on board) of trajectory and attitude of both space and atmospheric flying systems
• The second is devoted to the design, realization and qualification of instruments and mechanisms for space applications
• The latter concerns the activity related to the design and qualification of Earth low and high-altitude flight systems, the development of stratospheric balloon probes and the application of drones and sounding rockets for environmental monitoring and for the analysis of the low atmosphere.
