The information and consultancy activity on research funding opportunities offered by the European Union or other international bodies is coordinated at the University by the International Research Office which, in particular, provides support to professors and researchers in the pre-award phase, in the application of research projects to competitive calls, and in the subsequent  management - post-award - of the funds assigned.

The University promotes training initiatives on international research funding, aimed at doctoral students, researchers and administrative staff supporting international research.

It is also one of the Local Contact Points (LoCP) of EURAXESS – Researchers in motion, a network of more than 200 offices in about 40 European and associated countries, created by the European Commission to facilitate the mobility of researchers and the development of scientific relationships, also through the timely reporting of employment and training opportunities in research.

The International Research Office coordinates the participation of the Padova University in the Human Resources Strategy For Researchers - HRS4R for which the University has been awarded the recognition "HR Excellence in Research Award". By regulating the rights and duties of research institutions, universities, researchers at every stage of their careers, HRS4R represents an operational tool developed by the European Commission for those working in the European Research Area, aimed at supporting the concrete integration of the principles established by the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for their recruitment in institutional human resources management policies.

It monitors the panorama of funding opportunities addressed to Principal Investigators who access competitive University or international calls, choosing Padova as the campus of their excellent research. It provides support in the drafting and submission of research proposals for the following funding programs:
