MARMOLADA LAB
MARMOLADA LAB
The course "Marmolada LAB" is designed as a professional and cultural development pathway dedicated to the analysis of climate change and its specific impacts on alpine areas. Through a focus on the Marmolada case study, participants will gain a solid understanding of the scientific foundations underpinning global change and its regional consequences. The course offers a combination of theoretical lessons and practical activities, including labs and exercises with cutting-edge technologies for glacier monitoring. Participants will learn to consult and critically analyze various data sources, developing independent judgment. A residential experience on the Marmolada glacier will allow for translating theoretical knowledge into operational field skills. The course is structured into two main parts: a theoretical section, which delves into the fundamentals of climate change and cryosphere dynamics, and a practical section, featuring labs and field experience on the glacier, including geophysical instrumentation. The goal is to provide participants with the tools to understand and evaluate climate data and risks in mountain environments, while simultaneously developing effective communication skills to engage in public debate on climate change.
