To enrol in the Open Semester, you must complete two steps:

1. Register and complete the procedures set out on the Universitaly portal from 13 July 2026 and by 18:00 on 3 August 2026.

2. Register and follow the procedures set out on the University portal; for those intending to attend the filter semester at the University of Padua, the portal is Uniweb. The enrolment procedures (pre-enrolment, application for enrolment in the Open Semester and payment) are available from 13 July 2026 until the strict deadline of 23:59 on 6 August 2026 (Italy time zone). The enrolment procedure is completed upon payment of the flat-rate contribution for the filter semester, amounting to €250.00.

For full details, please consult the enrolment instructions

The University of Padua allows enrolment in the open semester and in another Degree Programme. It is therefore possible to enrol in the open semester and take part in the selection procedures for the first year or for subsequent years of any course, and to enrol by following the instructions published in the admission notices, with no difference whatsoever compared with people who do not enrol in the
open semester. Please note that enrolment in a Degree Programme is completed with payment of the enrolment instalment. Therefore, if you intend to take part in the selection procedures and enrol in a Degree Programme (including a related one) by following the standard procedures laid down in the call, both the €250 fee for enrolment in the open semester and the first enrolment instalment for the course must be paid.

If you already have an active academic record or you have enrolled/plan to enrol in the first year in the 2026/27 academic year, if you consider it appropriate, it is also possible, but not necessary, to request a suspension in order to enrol in the open semester.

Suspension in the first year is possible by way of derogation from the student academic records regulations. It will also be possible to resume your studies by submitting a specific application immediately after the end of the open semester, again by way of derogation from the regulations.

If you hold a qualification obtained abroad, once you have completed the enrolment procedure on Universitaly and on Uniweb, you will be contacted by the Admissions and Welcome Unit for the verification of the documentation relating to the foreign entry qualification.
The entry qualification must be obtained, and updated on your personal Uniweb page, by 31 July 2026.

Enrolment in the open semester and in the related Degree Programme is conditional upon:
- the suitability of the foreign qualification for access to university education in Italy. For further information on the entry requirements for those holding a foreign qualification, please consult the dedicated section.

- for non-EU students residing abroad: meeting the Italian language proficiency requirements at B2 level, according to the procedures indicated on the dedicated page.

- only for non-EU students residing abroad: submission of the pre-enrolment application, required to apply for a study visa, through the Universitaly platform by 3 August 2026.

For the procedure to verify the documentation relating to the foreign entry qualification, it is necessary to upload the required documentation through the portal apply.unipd.it in accordance with the instructions and deadlines that will be communicated by the Admissions and Welcome Unit.
If the above procedure is not completed, or if the verification of the foreign qualification has a negative outcome, or if the Italian language proficiency requirements at B2 level are not met (for non-EU applicants residing abroad), you will not be admitted to attend the open semester classes.

Breakdown of the enrolment fee for the open semester

Those who, at the end of the open semester, enrol on one of the single-cycle master’s degree programmes in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, and Veterinary Medicine, or on a Degree Programme other than those recognised as “related” pursuant to Ministerial Decree 941/2026, are required to pay the annual university fees, calculated according to the regulations in force at the university of enrolment (including the regional fee for the right to study and stamp duty), minus the enrolment fee already paid.
