Open semester
Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, to access the courses of Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics and Veterinary Medicine, it is necessary to enrol in an open semester, an initial training period lasting about three months to which you can be admitted without any entrance test.
Durante the open semester, all enrolled persons attend three common courses:
chemistry and biochemical propaedeutics
Physics
Biology
At the end of the Open Semester, tests are carried out, uniform at national level, which determine the formation of a national ranking, including all the people who have passed at least one test. Based on the ranking, Cineca will make the assignments based on the preferences expressed.
Those who obtain the sufficiency in all three tests can proceed to enrol in the course of study of assignment.
Those who do not obtain the sufficiency in one or two tests, must instead register for the remedial exams at the university of assignment and will be able to enrol only after passing them.
Those who are present in the ranking, but are not assigned to a university for one of the three courses of study mentioned above, can access one of the related courses, always subject to assignment by Cineca.
In order to protect yourself in the event of non-admission to the main courses, it is always preferable to participate in the ordinary selections for the courses of your interest.
