Certificates

Versione italiana

Certificates are official documents, issued by the University of Padua, stating information on students’ career. You can use certificates when dealing with private bodies and institutes abroad; for public and private bodies delivering public services, you need self-certifications instead.

Certificates are usually issued on stamped paper (with revenue stamp affixed to it). You need one revenue stamp every four pages for each certificate issued (e.g. Bachelor’s transcript of records and Master’s transcript of records: two certificates, two revenue stamps).

Types of certificates and validity

Certificates are issued in Italian or, in some cases, in English and are valid for either Italy or abroad.

For enrolled students, students withdrawing from studies, who lost their student status:

  • certificate of enrolment
  • certificate of enrolment and transcript of records
  • certificate of enrolment with academic years of attendance (in Italian only)
  • certificate of enrolment and tuition fees (in Italian only)

For graduates:

  • degree certificate
  • degree certificate and transcript of records
  • degree certificate with academic years of attendance (in Italian only)
  • degree certificate with tuition fees (in Italian only)

Please note that the enrolment/degree certificate and transcript of records in English valid for abroad, also known as Transcript of Records, is only available for the degree programmes pursuant to Italian M.D. no. 509/1999 and no. 270/2004.
