OVERVIEW

The programme trains specialists capable of working in both the public and private sectors, in global, multicultural, and interdisciplinary contexts, to carry out professional consulting and coordination roles related to the assessment, design, and management of environmental systems with a view to ecological and sustainable transition. The main contexts of expertise acquired  are the following: Analysis, control, and management of environmental resources and land;- Assessment of environmental quality; Enhancement and restoration of the quality of environmental resources affected by human impacts; Implementation and evaluation of environmental impact studies for strategic  and environmental risk assessments; Environmental impact of production processes; Development and  certification of environmental management systems.

 

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

1st Year (Common Path): International environmental law; Environmental policies and projects; Environmental data analysis; Renewable energy for sustainable development and environmental transition; Risk assessment and Life Cycle Assessment; Management of environmental pollutants; Biomonitoring of environmental systems; Genetic and Microbiological Tools for Environmental Applications; Proximal and remote sensing

2nd Year: 

Path 1 – (Sustainability and resilience of territorial systems): Agricultural management of biogeochemical cycles; Nature-Based Solutions; Soil health & Carbon farming; Ecosystem services evaluation for the agroecological transition; Vegetation, micrometeorology and climate change. 

Path 2 – (Management of sustainable processes): Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) management and social & environmental accountability; Waste management and environmental remediation; Environmental analytical monitoring; Natural transformations and advanced treatments of organic substances; Minerals for climate actions.
