At the end of the course of study, students receive a double degree from the University of Padua and from the foreign university where part of the training activity was carried out.
TRANSFOR-M is a two-year second-cycle Bachelor's Degree Programme that leads to a double degree in Forest Sciences and Environmental Management. Initially funded by the European Commission and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) under the Transatlantic Degree Partnership (TDP) programme, from 2010 to 2014, this project is itself a continuation of TRANSFOR (2005-2008). Student mobility now continues without external funding.
TRANSFOR-M students are trained in modern methods of sustainable forestry and environmental management through an approach that is mindful of cultural and situational differences, thereby acquiring a global perspective able to take into account the existing multicultural perspectives on environmental, economic and cultural issues.
They can choose from the numerous second-cycle study programmes offered by the participating departments and faculties, based either on thesis work only or on attendance of courses, and they will spend one year in Canada and one year in Europe attending the study programme taught in English.
During the mobility period, students will pay enrolment fees and all compulsory contributions required for enrolment in the Degree Programme to which they have been admitted to their home university (or university of first enrolment). During their stay at the partner university, however, they will not pay admission or enrolment fees (except, where required, any compulsory contributions).
