Double Titles
The University of Padova offers numerous double degree programs, based on specific agreements with one or more foreign institutions. The Double Degree programmes allow the students of the University to spend a period of study abroad, attending courses aimed at obtaining the Italian degree and the foreign qualification of the same level.
The International Relations Area – Strategic Partnerships Sector provides support and advice and periodically organizes training meetings.
The Guidelines for the creation of Double Degree programmes are available on the university intranet.
The creation of a double degree syllabus is divided into several phases, each of which requires careful evaluation by the structures involved:
- Design;
- planning and negotiation: identification of the path, integration of the degree course, preparation and negotiation of the Double Degree agreement;
- internal approval;
- Syllabus activation.
At the base of the creation of a Double Degree syllabus there are strategic considerations such as the objectives of the proposing Department / Course of study in the field of internationalization, the quality and international profile of the Partner institutions, previous collaborations, the added value and complementarity of the course of study, etc.

The Double Degree programmes are managed by the reference structures (Departments / Schools), in collaboration with the International Relations Area and the Teaching and Student Services Area.
The management of these courses is divided into several phases, including:
- Promotion of the course
- Selection of outgoing students
- Verification of incoming students' nominations
- Support to outgoing students (before departure for the Partner campus and after return)
- Support to incoming students (before their arrival and during their stay at UniPD)
- Student career management (enrolment, fees, mobility scheme, study plan and learning agreement, credit recognition)
- First-cycle/Bachelor's degree and certifications
- Quality Monitoring & Assurance
In order to regulate the career management of students enrolled in these courses of study and to define the activities of each Office/Department/Centre involved in the various phases of management, Guidelines are available (downloadable below) and supporting documentation including, for example, vademecum for the management of incoming and outgoing mobility, Templates of calls for the selection of outgoings, etc.
This documentation is constantly updated, trying to meet the needs of the structures involved.
The University, through the International Relations Area, offers financial contributions to support outgoing students within the framework of (bilateral) Double Degree agreements.
Grants are awarded to the winners of the Double Degree calls, following the order of the selection rankings and until funds are exhausted. They can be supplemented with Department contributions, where available.
