Double degrees
The University of Padua offers numerous Double Degree programmes, based on specific agreements with one or more foreign institutions. Double Degree programmes enable students of the University to spend a period of study abroad, attending courses aimed at obtaining the Italian qualification and a foreign qualification of the same level.
The International Relations Area – Strategic Partnerships Unit provides support and advice and periodically organises training meetings.
Within the University intranet, the Guidelines for the creation of Double Degree programmes are available.
The creation of a Double Degree programme is structured into several stages, each of which requires careful assessment by the bodies involved:
- concept development;
- design and negotiation: identification of the pathway, integration of the Degree Programme, preparation and negotiation of the Double Degree agreement;
- internal approval;
- activation of the programme.
The creation of a Double Degree programme is based on strategic considerations such as the internationalisation objectives of the proposing Department / Degree Programme, the quality and international profile of the partner institutions, previous collaborations, the added value and complementarity of the study pathway, etc.

Double Degree programmes are managed by the relevant organisational units (Departments / Schools), in collaboration with the International Relations Office and the Teaching and Student Services Office.
The management of these courses is organised into several phases, including:
- Promotion of the course
- Selection of outgoing students
- Verification of incoming students' nominations
- Support for outgoing students (before departure for the Partner institution and after their return)
- Support for incoming students (before their arrival and during their stay at UniPD)
- Management of students' academic careers (enrolment, fees, mobility scheme, study plan and learning agreement, credit recognition)
- Bachelor's Degree and certifications
- Monitoring and quality assurance
In order to regulate the management of the academic career of students enrolled in these degree programmes and define the responsibilities of each Office/Department/Centre involved in the various management phases, Guidelines (downloadable below) and Supporting documentation are available, including, for example, handbooks for managing incoming and outgoing mobility, templates for calls for applications for the selection of outgoing students, etc.
This documentation is constantly being updated in an effort to respond to the needs of the structures involved.
The University, through the International Relations Area, offers financial contributions to support students going abroad במסגרת bilateral Double Degree agreements.
The contributions are awarded to the successful applicants in the Double Degree calls for applications, following the order of the selection rankings and until the available funds are exhausted. They may be supplemented by Department contributions, where available.
