The Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) is a limited-access programme entirely taught in English and equips students with analytical and decision-making skills that are highly valued in International Organizations, Public Institutions, Consulting Firms, Multinational Firms and NGOs. The programme integrates perspectives from economics, political science, law and philosophy to help students interpret and address the ethical, institutional and economic challenges of our globalized world. Students can tailor their study plan and specialize in one of the three tracks - Policy Advising and Consulting in Multilevel Governance, Ethical Decision-Making and NGOs’ Governanceand International Organizations and Geopolitical Risk.

Graduates from PPE develop a professional profile suited for careers in International Cooperation, Policy Analysis, Public Administration, or Business Consulting. Graduates can also pursue a Master’s Degree in the areas of Economics, Business, Political Science and Philosophy and related fields.

 

Characteristics and objectives

The Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) provides students with the interdisciplinary knowledge and analytical skills required to interpret and address the major political, economic, and ethical challenges of contemporary societies. The programme combines Economics, Political Science, Philosophy, and Law to develop a comprehensive perspective on global issues such as sustainability, digital transformation, global governance, and decision-making.

During the first two years, students acquire a solid foundation across the core disciplines, gaining familiarity with economic reasoning, logical thinking, political processes, ethical judgments, data analysis and legal systems. The third year allows students to consolidate their competencies by specializing in one of the three thematic tracks: Policy Advising and Consulting in Multilevel Governance, Ethical Decision-Making and NGO Governance or International Organizations and Geopolitical Risk. Each track integrates elective courses with a compulsory internship.

The PPE prepares students for career paths in International Organizations, NGOs, Public Institutions, Research Centres and Consulting Firms, while also providing a solid methodological background for graduate studies in the areas of Economics, Business, Political Science, Philosophy and related fields.

Career opportunities

The PPE offers a transdisciplinary preparation and equips students for national and international career opportunities across its three specialization tracks:

  • Policy Advising and Consulting in Multilevel Governance, with entry roles such as Junior Policy Analyst, Public Administration Consultant, Research Assistant in Policy Evaluation, Junior Institutional Media Manager in Firms and Organizations.
  • Ethical Decision-Making and NGO Governance, leading to positions such as Junior Officer in NGOs, Corporate Social Responsibility Advisor, Social Responsibility and Social Communication Junior Officer, Institutional and External Relations Junior Manager in the Non-Profit Sector, Impact Assessment Analyst in Non-Profit and Mission-Driven Organizations.
  • International Organizations and Geopolitical Risk, preparing graduates for junior roles such as Officers in International and Transnational Organizations, Geopolitical Analysts, Analysts in Think Tanks, International Research Centres and Multinational Firms.

All specialization tracks include a compulsory internship with the aim of providing hands-on experience within Public Institutions, NGOs, Research Centres, or International Organizations, enabling students to develop professional skills consistent with their chosen pathway.

Each track also offers excellent preparation for graduate studies in Economics, Business, Political Science and Philosophy and related fields, in Italy or worldwide.

 

Programme Structure

The Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics PPE offers an interdisciplinary education at the intersection of Economics, Political Science, Philosophy and Law. It equips students with the analytical tools, quantitative methods, and ethical frameworks needed to understand and address complex societal challenges.

The curriculum progresses from foundational training in Logic, Mathematics, Economics and Legal Systems to advanced study of Global Governance, Policy Analysis and Data Analysis.

In the final year, students specialize in one of three thematic tracks - Policy Advising and Consulting, Ethical Decision Making and NGOs Governance, or International Organizations and Geopolitical Analysis - allowing them to develop expertise aligned with their professional goals.
