Giulio Goti was born in 1989. In 2013 he obtained the Master's Degree in Chemical Sciences at the University of Florence. Then, in 2017 he received the PhD title working in the field of carbohydrate chemistry under the guidance of Prof. Anna Bernardi at the University of Milan. Part of the work (3 months) was carried out in the group of Dr. Niels Reichardt, CIC-biomaGUNE, Donostia, Spain.
From 2017, he carried out post-doctoral studies in the group of Prof. Paolo Melchiorre at the ICIQ research center of Tarragona, Spain. Here he broadened his knowledge in the field of enantioselective organocatalysis and synthetic photochemistry.
In 2020 he got back to Italy with a Giovani@RicercaScientifica scholarship funded by CARIPT Foundation. He worked under the supervision of Dr. Alessandro Mordini at ICCOM-CNR, Florence, developing Pd catalyzed C-H activation methods for the preparation of innovative luminescent materials.
In 2021 he received a MSCA Seal of Excellence @ Unipd post-doctoral fellowship, joining the group of Prof. Luca Dell’Amico at the University of Padova, working on the development of photocatalytic synthetic methods. In 2022 he won the Young Researchers - SoE, PhotoFix-Bio fellowship, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU. Since December 2022 he is a type A fixed-term researcher at the DiSC of Padova, where he works on the use of photocatalysis for CO2 trapping and for the functionalization of biorelevant compounds like amino acids and carbohydrates.
