Federico Chiariotti got his Ph.D. in Information Engineering at the University of Padova, Italy, in 2019, where he also obtained his master's degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 2015. In 2019, he worked for a short period at Nokia Bell Labs, Ireland, and between 2020 and 2022, he worked as a postdoc and an assistant professor at Aalborg University, Denmark. His main research interests are in semantic and effective communication, protocol design, Age of Information, Virtual Reality, and bike sharing systems. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in international venues and received the Best Paper Award at four conferences. He is currently involved in the REDIAL project, which focuses on the design of effective communications between intelligent agents by integrating machine learning, control, and communications aspects into a single framework.
