On this page you will find all the information for those attending the Open Semester at the University of Padua.

The Open Semester is a unique pathway, independent of the choice of the main degree programme or its relevant location.

Classes begin on 1 September. The first weeks take place in person, with the possibility of attending online as well in synchronous mode.
In the following weeks, however, teaching activities continue exclusively online and conclude by 30 November.

Further information will be published on this page in the coming weeks.

The Syllabuses relating to the teaching programmes delivered in the Semestre Aperto for the 2026/27 academic year are available on the dedicated page of the MUR

You may withdraw before completing enrolment by sending an email to immatricolazioni.studenti@unipd.it and attaching an identity document. In this case, the enrolment fee for the Semestre filtro may be refunded and the enrolment will not be counted among the three attempts allowed (Art. 16 of Ministerial Decree 491/2026).

You may also withdraw after completing enrolment, but in this case you will not be entitled to a refund of the fee. This is an actual withdrawal and therefore, unless the Ministry provides different instructions, this enrolment will be counted among the three allowed. To submit a withdrawal, follow the instructions on the page https://www.unipd.it/interrompere-riprendere-studi.

To request exemption from attending the activities of the open semester, follow the relevant instructions

Students who, in the previous academic year, attended the open semester at the University of Padua and who, for the academic year 2026/27, intend to undertake it at another university, may complete the following form to be submitted to the destination institution

Channels, groups for in-person classes and class timetables

Students enrolled in the open semester are divided into 6 channels and, within each channel, into 3 groups according to the initial letters of their surname, as indicated below.

The first 12 lectures, for a total of 24 hours (from 1 September to 24 September 2026), are delivered in blended mode, that is, simultaneously in person in the classrooms of the HUB di Ingegneria and online in synchronous mode.

The students in each group, on a rotating basis, may attend in person in the classroom assigned to their stream according to the following schedule:

In-person dates
Group A: 1 September, 8 September, 15 September and 22 September
Group B: 2 September, 9 September, 17 September and 23 September
Group C: 3 September, 10 September, 18 September and 24 September.

Each student, before the start of the lectures, will receive an email indicating their assigned stream and group.

Please note: for attendance to be recorded correctly, students attending in person must go to the lecture in the classroom assigned to their stream.
