Robotics and Automation: Shaping Our Future through Machine Intelligence
Robots are reshaping how we live, work, and interact. This Summer School offers an immersive introduction to robotics, automation, and intelligent systems. Through lectures, demonstrations, and lab activities, participants will explore the evolution of automation, from rigid systems to AI-driven machines that perceive, learn, and collaborate with humans. The program examines industrial robotics, machine learning, Industry 5.0, and smart factories, highlighting real-world applications in logistics, manufacturing, and daily life. Students will also observe advanced robotic platforms and reflect on the future of work, skills, and society in an increasingly autonomous world today.
Activities provide an overarching exploration of robotics, automation, and learning, blending theoretical foundations with exposure to cutting-edge intelligent systems.
Participants will engage with lectures on current open challenges—including perception, control, AI integration, and sim-to-real transfer—and explore the design of real robotic platforms equipped with learning capabilities, adaptive behavior, and autonomous decision-making.
